Just curious, what is this link supposed to do?

The time showing when someone posted is a hyperlink, Where is it supposed to go, right now it just goes back to the post you clicked on. Nothing important just a curiosity.

It's the permalink to that specific post.

Yeah, when you mouse over it, you get the pop-up that shows the time stamp, but look down at the lower-left corner of your screen and see the link location.
