Todays' replacement for Teamviewer

In the early days of Teamviewer, it seemed like it was really 'reliable' for setting to start up after reboot and being able to reconnect. Any time I try to set this now results in failure after failure and
code regenerationpassword - What's the use if restart after reboot if the code changes? I mean - how does that help me when I'm five hundred miles away from the computer?While I have moved to using NoMachine internally - there isn't any reason it can't be configured to do the same function am I correct? You will still need 'client / server' computers and the proper port forwarding in your router.
I ask to assist a club member who is about to spend two months in Florida, for something easy enough for him to work with.

What do you mean by "code regenaration"?
I use Supremo, Meshcentral2 and Teamviewer, and have no issues, after reboots.

Sounds like you're wanting a persistent remote connection to the target machine. MeshCentral gets the job done for me.

Sounds like you're wanting a persistent remote connection to the target machine. MeshCentral gets the job done for me.
This is for a single person that is non-it and in his seventies. Mesh central isn’t an option as he isn’t going to want to set up or manage a server

Interesting and not previously known. Will have to test and see. Used to be you only needed to click one maybe two boxes and you were done…

From what I remember with team viewer if you were logged in on both ends you didn’t need the OTP.
This is another piece of software I’ve used also and worked well.

Chrome has that tool, but it's annoying to use.

Also, I'm not sure whether the free license allows you to wake up system if it goes to sleep.Honestly doubt that any solution will be able to wake the remote machine if it's in sleep and it's the only client on the far end. The products that I've used or looked at usually rely on another "awake" node at the same site to send WoL. If it's just the 1 machine in FL and 1 machine at home, there's nothing available to kick the sleeping machine... Unless there's something that I'm missing?

yeah, for sure, by definition it can't wake it if it is asleep. It has to be awoken by another machine on the network. The program can't run to wake itself up.

So this is only finding the solution, not providing a solution? Not many great options or everyone would be using them in that case.
