Nextcloud: seeding company 400GBs
-
Getting Things set up for my first Nextcloud build. @scottalanmiller got me setup, and now it's up to me to get thing rolling on seeding the share with nearly 400GBs of files from the company Marketing drive.
I would think that I shouldn't 'own' the files, so that takes me back to - how to best upload the files and who is the proper owner.
-
How did @scottalanmiller get you setup?

The NC is a VM on the clients Main server(s). Once we got the initial Fedora build up, he SALTed it.

I think if I were to do it, I would create a "Marketing" admin account on Nextcloud and share from there... but that may not be the best way... just my initial thought.

New build? Create the "admin" account that will "own" the share.
Then use rsync to upload everything.
Then use the occ command to rescan the directory.
