Need a New RPG
-
So I've been watching show after show for many months now. I'm halfway through Season 2 of Arrow right now and, while I like the show, I feel as if gaming is missing from my life. The only RPG I have that I haven't beaten, that I also want to play right now, is Skyrim. I have a character fairly far along on the 360 but that does me no good on PC. I already own Skyrim in the Legendary Edition for PC, so I'm re-downloading and installing that now. It was hard to go from Dragon Age, where you can pause the action when you get surprise attacked, straight to Skyrim, which doesn't have that feature. Gonna try it one more time and try starting over. Back to 100 smithing, here I come!
-
That being said, I'm open to other suggestions that people might have. I have Dishonored for PC, with all the DLC, but I already beat it for 360 and don't know if I can play it again.

Mass Effect
-
And Fable has just been rerelease for the PC and has been updated.
-
Jade Empire.
-
Shadowrun Returns.
-
What about Balder's Gate, Icewind Dale or Neverwinter Nights.

Played them. Have them all for PC, but not all the DLC. Not interested in re-playing them at this point.

Have it but haven't played yet.

Nope, never played any of those.

Heard of it but never played.
Not a long one and a very different genre than you are used to. It is an old school isometric style but made this past year. Good writing and there is one expansion for it already that is supposed to be very good. I liked it quite a bit. Less than fifteen hours of gameplay in the main title, but it is a low cost game and has expansions.
It's a cyperpunk genre with magic. A bit odd, but a fun universe.

These are the main predecessors, along with Jade Empire, to KOTOR and DAO. BG and NN and considered some of the definitive classics of their time.

How disappointing. I thought you were talking about an express ordinance delivery system

Ah KOTOR...ok, I'll check them out when I have the funds.

I'm going to second these recommendations Baldur's gate is the series that got me into gaming. It was recently re-released on Steam and Android (maybe iOS as well?) and can generally be found for almost nothing during Steam sales. GoG has Icewind Dale available and it seems to be working with Windows 8.

@coliver Really great games. Hoping to play BG again soon and haven't played ID but I think that I bought it already from GOG.
-
@scottalanmiller Yep I re-purchased BG original on Android and have played through a bit of it. Amazing how well that engine works with a touch interface.
