bad drive in R5 at a client prompted another to go down during rebuild, thus nuking the array. Second time in a month (different clients). Whats that? Why do I pitch Raid10?

Just reviewed external pen test for a customer, have to say. Kinda exactly what I expected. Some easy fixes or change the way some stuff is setup.

Office 2016 upgrades for a customer, log in as our admin user and watch paint dry with the unattended install.
One of the installs kept failing the windows error logs are less than helpful. After some advanced time I spy offline files.
Who wants to bet the install after disabling offline files reboot, fixes it? -
RE: What Are You Doing Right Now
Yup, Offline files you dirty whore. All that time wasted trying to track down the error when it was......
Which offline files caused issues for a different client last week. -

17 years in IT? You also like to teach others rather than the fear or job security? (per the profile)
Clearly you are not learning right, now miss-leading people.
Investing in a UPS is cheap, and probably could have saved you here. -

Playing with Nextdoor.com, getting to know the neighbours.
They have their own agenda, if they dont like what you are saying, they will ban you.
Out neighboor group on facebook was created by two family members that were ban for just stating their mind. It wasnt vulgar, just their views. I had to wait a year to since up with my house address as they couldnt verify it with the post office, when yet I was getting mail fine for over a year. It is mainly stupidity on the internet, but you are used to that...... -

What's amazing is the whole country knew Houston was in for a disaster, but locally they told them it would be fine and to stay put. Now everyone is trapped.
Isn't that the same thing that happened with Catrina?
Yup, exactly the same. But people had experience from Katrina and should have known not to listen when the government told them to stay.
Houston is a Hurricane zone too, so what it different for them. They should have known.

Trying to figure out where a customer 60GB mailbox is taking hostage in what folder, then I see this gem as an inbox sub folder.
I worked along side someone from an MSP that toasted someone's deleted items because it was filling up their mailbox (not sure why the task fell to him). User got in a flap and MSP had to restore the mailbox because El Cupcake (user) "Works out of the deleted items folder".
I had the head of HR at one job use the deleted items as a filing cabinet, sub folders, the works.. Mailbox corruption and fixing it she freaked we didnt restore deleted items. This from a company that the CEO said he wanted NO email backups for legal reason, we convinced him to have at least a weekly full for system corruption, etc...
