Standard Plugins for WordPress Sites
-
Okay, I know that this is awfully subjective. But what standard plugins do you "always" use for your WordPress sites? There are some that just seem like no brainers and should be standard for most any deployment.
Here is what I am thinking so far, would like to hear opinions of what other people use, like, whatever.
- Breeze: by Cloudways. This handles cache, integrates with Varnish, and does minification.
- CloudFlare: Assuming you have CloudFlare for your site, this integrates the CDN cache.
- JetPack: Integrates with WordPress stuff.
- Really Simple SSL: Handles SSL complexities.
- WordFence: Can be a pain, but provides some protection, monitoring, etc.
Is there something I should be considered for more speed? Some of these don't make sense?

@Reid-Cooper
Not a recommendation, just what I normally use:
KeyCDN Cache Enabler + Autoptimize. Or LSCache when using LiteSpeed/OpenLiteSpeed -
Lets see: Akismet anti-spam, broken link checker, disable xml-rpc, mailchimp, revision control, oembed gist, smush, and wordpress popular posts.

disable xml-rpc
I protect xml-rpc and Admin from brute force attacks with some ConfigServer Security & Firewall (CSF) custom rules. Basically I instruct CSF/LFD to look for POST requests to xmlrpc.php & wp-login.php in the webserver log and block the source IPs after x failed attempts

@dave_c That works, nice!

I didn't know Cloudflare had a wordpress plug-in.

They do, it is pretty handy.

I use:
BackUpWordPress
Contact Form 7
Elementor
Limit Login Atempts
Really Simple SSL
Wordfence Security
Yoast SEO -
I really want to put this into place.. but (gasp) people in the club insist on using G-sites... I feel like thermiting my computer.
-
I try to use as few different plugins as possible because of their impact on the speed of my site. And I do the connection and configuration of the SSL through https://hostovita.pl/ssl/ manually

Same here, keep it as lean as reasonable.

I use those plugins, I don't need anything more other than some forms plugin or captcha.

Thanks guys. Seems like not too many people have plugins focused on performance. I'm surprised, seems like those things would be pretty common.

When I go to my WP site, performance seems fine.
