Dell iDrac still requires Java
-
I have not needed to use the iDRAC console in a couple of years now, and I had not realized that I still had to have f'n java installed in order to use it. WTF....
-
Yes, it's freaking embarrassing.
-
I wonder why they haven't moved to HTML5 yet....

I have literally zero devices with Java installed. I will have to install it just to handle this task I need to do.

choco install -y javaruntime

I have 1 admin workstation with java on it just to access iDRACs on production systems. PITA.

Yeah, it's gross. I cringe every time I have to use it.

But yeah I know what you mean as well.

Yes, I have just rebooted servers instead of using the console.
That is quite sad. -
iLO is the same if you're not using Windows. It sucks.
-
aaaaaannnnnndddd I have to go in and manually weaken Java on top of it.
-
I'd build a VM in VirtualBox just for this reason.
-
All that work and..........
-
I even logged in to the DRAC with SSH and did a reset of it.

All for something that's supposed to be "easy", FML.
-
I had to import the iDRAC SSL certificate into Java...
