Unnecessary packages?
-
Just upgraded a desktop VM from Fedora 28 to Fedora 29. After running
sudo dnf list extras
, I get this:I am currently running on kernel 4.18.16-300.fc29
Is there any particular reason why I would want or need to hold on to the old kernel?

You usually have three version in case one of the kernel is not compatible.

Okay, then I'll just hold on to it. Not like its taking up any more space than necessary. Thanks

Fedora only keeps 3 versions by default.
I'm not sure what CentOS 7 does now, but Cent OS 6 used to keep them all.

So does Ubuntu.
Keeping them all was highly annoying when /boot had to be it's own partition. That's been quite a while, thankfully.
