Decrypting Rapid Ransomware
-
I have a possible new customer, who got hit with the rapid ransomware. He has no backup. Wondering if any one has or knows how to decrypt the files. I am hoping someone came across this. thanks

@smartkid808 From a quick Google, doesn't look like it is possible to recover those files. Might be able to in the future, but only if the encryption keys are recovered. If you want to read up on it: https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/667032/rapid-ransomware-rapid-paymeme-how-recovery-filestxt-support-topic/page-2

Yeah, and it removes any existing snapshots. I'm afraid this is going to be a painful lesson for whoever got hit.
Out of curiosity, do you have the rebrandable version of CryptoPrevent from FoolishIT.com yet? Might be an opportunity to get started with that if you don't.
