CrossOver Wine Now on Chrome OS
-
This is an interesting one, CrossOver, the CodeWeavers' Wine based Windows app system for Linux, now runs on ChromeOS.
-
I wonder how that will work, or how well. I bet it doesn't work on ARM.
-
I bet apps tend to run really slowly.

Article says that getting Windows to run on ARM is a phenominal technical achievement - apparently the authors thing that Windows is pure garbage compared to Linux and BSD that run on ARM and always have, and run on tons of other things that Windows can't. It seems more like an indictment of Windows than a praise.
Also, Windows has been on ARM for a while, they were selling this years ago.
Also, ARM are not mobile processors.
-
Also, the article says that only 32bit Windows apps will run on Windows ARM, not real Windows apps.

What's a real Windows app? Most people I know running local Office still run the 32 bit version.

One that doesn't require emulation to run. Windows is 64 bit. It's a 64 OS. Apps for that OS.
