You should have stopped using pptp a decade ago.

I know of nobody who would consider using PPTP with anything... RRAS or anything else.
If you are a Windows shop, you should be using SSTP, and IKEv2 as secondary.
SSTP is now available for Linux and OS X.

I like OpenVPN the most... my only issue with that is it requires 3rd party software.

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT206844RRAS was "never use PPTP" with Windows 2000. It's only an issue for shops set up before 1999.
