How to Download Hyper-V 2016
-
For some reason, Microsoft makes it very confusing as to how to acquire Hyper-V 2016. They make it feel like it might be okay to install it via the role in Windows Server (hint: don't do that.) They don't have a big Hyper-V website with flashing lights telling you how to acquire it. Their high profile, free enterprise virtualization is actually quite hidden and only available for download through Technet, probably to make it uniform with other free MS products. Confusingly, Hyper-V is a trial, just one without limits, but fear not, this is the real deal.
So without further ado, here is the link that you need:
Yes it is free, yes you install this directly on your servers, no it is not a trial in the normal sense.

@scottalanmiller Finally!! Someone makes it clear even though Microsoft makes it not clear....

I've never confused about it. But I have my WTF moments of why change it to say trial in the first place.

It has always said trial.
But for 2012R2, it specifically stated unlimited, instead of leaving it blank.
Edit, I just checked back again and they updated it to to unlimited again.

Isn't it still confusing for it say evaluations unlimited? Or does that just mean you can use it without support?

Yay! Finally something real to link to.
