Solved WordPress 4.7.1 Customizer Cannot Save
-
Latest WordPress, fully updated. Theme is the generic WP 2017 theme. No plugins except Akismet and it is not activated. Site is up and running, no issues. Logins work fine. I can make changes via the Settings menu so I know that I can write to the database. Running on A Small Orange hosting.
When I use the Customize feature and make any change, and select "Save & Publish" it acts like it saves (but way too fast) and then does nothing. If you try to navigate away it knows that it failed to save and gives the "do you want to leave this page with unsaved changes" warning. I am definitely an administrator.
Anyone seen this?

I fixed it by applying a different template, making a change, publishing it, this worked, so I reapplied the twenty seventeen template, made a change, saved it, and boom! Fixed.

Yeah, this is the crap I was just complaining about in the "what are you doing" thread. Argh.

4.7.1 is not the latest. 4.7.2 is the latest. WP 4.7.1 has some serious security flaws and an immediate update is highly recommended.

It was a typo, actually was on 4.7.2.
