      @JaredBusch said in httpd dead but pid file exists:

      In fact, I would rename anything in conf.d first, and restart.

      You could do something like this...

      mv conf.d conf.d.orig
      mkdir conf.d

      That way you have an empty folder, but can replace it with the old one in a snap all at once.

      Hi, I might be a little late but specifically for the self-hosted, telegram is there. And for basic functionalities, there are Element, TeamSpeak 3, Overtone, Steam Chat, & Tox.

      Telegram isn't self hosted, though.

      @Dashrender GP is working, but I get errors. Some of which I believe are related to syntax changes from 2008 to 2016.

      How about rebuilding one of the GPs, then disable the old one and enable the new one, and test?

      Yeah I'm working through it slowly. It's applying most. I just see some errors I am trying to diagnose

      Manual rebuild might be necessary.

      Working with a vendor we use for special projects like this today. Definitely possible

      If this is a terminal server you'll need to create a user based GPO then enable loopback processing so that a user GPO can apply to a computer.

      Got it to work. Edit the below file.

      app/Console/Commands/LdapSync.php

      Edit max_execution time and memory_limit

      ini_set('max_execution_time', 1200); //600 seconds = 10 minutes ini_set('memory_limit', '1000M');

      what was the default in those?

      ini_set('max_execution_time', 600); //600 seconds = 10 minutes
      ini_set('memory_limit', '500M');

      Wow - so it took more than 10 or more than 500 M RAM to import all that - due to your numbers, I 'm guessing it was the RAM more than the time.

      Not sure honestly--it took awhile. I spoke to a snipe-it Dev and they could sync 15k accounts with these settings. I needed this functionality so I can create a script to sync users every day at 1:00 AM.

      Looks like Microsoft finally allowing licenses to be used in hosting services in a way that doesn't mean purchasing a license for every server at the host, but only for a select few places. I'll grant you that they are the major hosting providers, but that still leaves out a bunch of our favorites around here.

      Right, but they were typing that sentence to someone. Was it in a logged conversation?

      I'm not allowed to search people's e-mails. It might be though

      Just saying that someone who was allowed could do that.

      No one is unfortunately. We have to have a reason to go look. Would need to be approved by my boss. I have access to do it, but I am now allowed.

      I know this is an old question that I'm replying to, but I found this post while searching for an answer to a different Citrix problem and I would like to offer some information in case anybody is still having the problem.

      Our Problem:
      In our environment we noticed when upgrading from Receiver 4.9 CU5 to Citrix Workspace App 1912 CU1 that Citrix App shortcuts were not showing up on the desktop for users. We have the "Show apps on desktop" setting configured via group policy and we have the Mandatory keyword in a lot of our Citrix apps. This all worked fine with Receiver, but with Workspace App, whether it was an upgrade to Workspace App on an existing endpoint or a new installation on a new endpoint, the user's Citrix Apps would not enumerate on the desktop unless the user opened the app pick list or ran a WSA reset.

      Solution That Worked for Us:
      Add the following Reg strings:
      x64 machines - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Citrix\Dazzle
      RefreshMs = 3600000
      InitialRefreshMinMs = 1
      InitialRefreshMaxMs = 1

      x86 machines - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\Dazzle
      RefreshMs = 3600000
      InitialRefreshMinMs = 1
      InitialRefreshMaxMs = 1

      Enabling Prelaunch on Endpoints also seemed to help with this issue. See the below Citrix Article for more info:

      Passthrough authentication is delayed on Workspace App for Windows 18.8.0.19031
      Article | AuthenticationConfiguration | 2 found this helpful | Created: 29 Oct 2018 | Modified: 29 Oct 2018
      Symptoms or Error
      Pass-through authentication is delayed on Workspace App for Windows 18.8.0.19031 Once user logs on to desktop, Workspace App does not log in automatically. User has to right click on Workspace App icon in system tray and click on logon. Application shortcuts are to be placed on desktop - This is enforced by policy. As Workspace App does not log on, apps are also not enumerated on the desktop. If user closes Workspace App and reopens from Start menu, logon is instant.

      Solution

      Make sure the following registry keys are present:

      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Citrix\Dazzle
      RefreshMs = 3600000
      InitialRefreshMinMs = 1
      InitialRefreshMaxMs = 1

      Use Receiver GPO to enable Prelaunch if it is required

      Problem Cause
      Prelaunch behavior has been re-designed in newer Receiver/Workspace App

      @wirestyle22 said in Quick List of Useful Powershell Commands:

      @IRJ Every day is like 12 hours of work in an 8 hour day and that's when I don't have random things thrown at me. I am working on the weekend but it's mostly in Linux. May need to make time

      You could probably feel comfortable with it in a week if you used it for everything. It is quite amazing how much you can feel lost with something one day and the next day you 100% get it. This happens alot and learning isn't always linear. There is generally a break through period.

      Yeah I just don't have the time. Everything has to be fixed immediately here. There is no room for it unfortunately. I'm going to go through the book @Dashrender and I both purchased called Learn Powershell in a Month of Lunches

      You learn stuff one bite at a time. My PowerShell chops are much better after a year at my current gig. And they improved doing one task at a time. Like that cmdlet I posted for finding user names. I did that enough to where I started to understand exactly what I'm telling the cmdlet to do, which leads to learning other cmdlets and such quicker.

      Make sure to have the local admin logged in and not logged out while you change and save the changes so then you can add yourself as admin tied to AD.

      I just made the default role admin and then changed it after my initial logon lol
