RE: Sharepoint - how do you use it?
We use it as a backend for our 365 e-discovery and archive/legal hold portal. Our partner built it for us - took 2-3 days. Amazing stuff they give you in Office 365 that few people realise is in the solution

RE: Mixed Office365 and Exchange enviornment?
@Dashrender As Scott says its risk and complexity. If your connection to ADFS goes (ISP failure, maintenance works etc) your users lose connectivity to 365 services. To have failover you are relying on low TTL DNS change/propagation or an expensive failover DNS solution.
Plus the cost of Windows licensing for proxy and ADFS devices, resources on the VM host or physical hardware. Then the cost of the same at your failover site
Removing it was one of my happier days...

RE: Review Request: Current version of Symantec Backup Exec
@lance 2012 is still pretty poor compared to Unitrends and Veeam is my default choice for VM backup. BE 2014 is "imminent" but Im not even looking at it.

RE: Documenting Common Knowledge
@Hubtech or taken out the back and lectured to with a cattle prod by their team;-)
@aaron-studer It might be worth turning it on its head, by that I mean pointing out that unless you can prove your documentation is the irrefutable source of all knowledge its never going to be referred to in that way. We already have a source of (nearly) all knowledge its called google-fu -

RE: Cloud Storage - Recommendations and your expierence - can Pertino fill this need?
Might be worth having a look at the sync n share providers. Most will do what you need but Encryption isn't on man of their lists. Egnyte will integrate with Sophos SGN and I think Box are doing the same
http://www.egnyte.com/file-server/online-file-server-features.html
In my previous life we were rolling Egnyte to over 30,000 users with plans to grow that to 140,000...I was just talking to an ex-colleague this morning who said its going really well. The solution puts a NAS type device in your LAN and does a sync to cloud but has an offline personal cloud function and works on almost anything
