@minion-queen - Not sure which subscription plan you use with Xero but just wondering how many users can have access? I thought I read somewhere that all plans include unlimited users or is their pricing a per user price?

I'm with the rest - What are you trying to accomplish with AD? Can it be accomplished with other means?
I agree, if it were me, I'd not look at AD here at all. This is where Salt or Ansible seems like a better fit.
Can salt and/or ansible be used for user/device authentication?
Salt/Ansible is not an authentication platform. It's a systems management or state configuration system.
You can use Salt/Ansible to sync accounts across devices... so that you can control what local users and passwords are on which systems.
I didn't think it was, but did not know about the account sync functionality. Thanks for the info.
That's a key feature in SodiumSuite's design. Account management across platforms.
Is that available in SodiumSuite at this time?
Not quite, but VERY soon.
Every time I login to my account I always click on the Terminal tab hoping there will be some added functionality. Really looking forward to some of the more advanced features of the platform to be implemented.

Text to Speech for IVR recordings
So most people I know are typically not excited to be the voice used to record messages on IVRs for a phone system. I had setup a freepbx system for my wife's company and she had purchased voice recordings from 8x8. I am not sure if anyone has ever purchased these but they are actually really nice recordings that do not sound overly robotic. Just curious if anyone knows of a software or website that you can type out your message and have it give you a clean sounding wav file or similar? I've looked at a few online but they all sound too robotic to me. I wish I knew what the 8x8 one was. Anyways just wondering if you guys use anything like this on your systems or have any suggestions.
Thanks

RE: FreePBX 14 Module Update Errors
Not sure if anyone else is experiencing this issue but after installing all the module updates yesterday all my clients using chan_sip trunks from voip.ms are being added to the blacklist under intrusion detection. I ended up having the add them to the whitelist to prevent issues. Clients using pj_sip trunks seems to be fine though.

I feel like there should be a hunt feature on the ATA itself that would allow me to start with port1 and then move on to the next if port1 is occupied.
How would this work when one ATA has no idea about the next one?
Use a Grandstream HT701 with 4 sub accounts on VoIP.ms.
Each sub account will be an extension in the VoIP.ms ring group or hunt group.
Simplest and easiest thing to do.
Thanks @JaredBusch I knew I was over complicating this setup. I like the idea of treating the “lines” as extensions from VOIP.MS and putting them in a ring group setup with the hunt option.
As always thank you for your expertise.

Yealink T46S Voicemail Icon Disappears Randomly
Does anyone else have this issue on the T46S phones? I am not sure if this is a setting, a bug, or a config setting from the Endpoint Manager. The icon displays on the phone when the person has a voicemail but then disappears randomly. Sometimes after 20 minutes, sometimes after a couple hours.
-The phones are running the latest firmware pushed down by the FreePBX Endpoint Manager.
-No the users are not checking the voicemail. They are still new voicemails so I would assume the icon should stay until they are checked.
-The icon does sometimes come back over an extended period of time. This is what is upsetting the user because they are unaware they have a new voicemail and then when the icon comes up they find out the message was from 4 hours ago.The server is running FreePBX 14 hosted on Vultr. The system is fully up to date. The issue has been happening for a couple weeks now or at least has been noticed for a couple weeks. More than one user has pointed this out.
Anyways, just curious if anyone else has come across this issue or if there is setting I am unaware of that only displays the notification for a certain amount of time.
Thanks

Anyone using Zimbra with Z-Push
I was just curious if anyone is using Zimbra with Z-Push. I have been playing around with it for a while now and it seems to be ok. Just wondering what issues you have run into or if it should not be used in production.
Thanks

They have outbound in some of their plans too. Like I said, sign up as a reseller even if the plan isn’t to resell. You get way more under that plan.

Ring Time For Find Me Follow Me W/ Call Confirmation
Just curious how long do you set your ring times when you have find me/follow me forward to a cell phone with the confirmation setting enabled? I feel like I need to set it for 45 seconds to give the person receiving the call enough time to answer the call, listen to the instructions, then press 1 to answer the call. However, for the caller this is obviously a long time and will most likely hang up if the call takes that long to get to voicemail. If I shorten to the ring time the call gets disconnected some times before the receiver of the call can answer it.

Download the Latest Release of win-acme from here
https://github.com/PKISharp/win-acme/releasesExtract the Zip file to the C:\letsencrypt folder (You can change this to your own folder).
Modify the C:\letsencrypt\scripts\ImportExchange.ps1 line 94 from
FileName = (Join-Path -Path $StorePath -ChildPath "$TargetHost.pfx")
to
FileName = $StorePath
Modify the C:\letsencrypt\scripts\PSScript.bat file to thispowershell.exe -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -File ./Scripts/ImportExchange.ps1 %2 IIS,SMTP,IMAP,POP 1 %1 %3
Then run the following to get the lets encrypt setup
letsencrypt.exe --plugin manual --manualhost mail.domain.com,autodiscover.domain.com,webmail.domain.com,autodiscover.domain2.com --validation selfhosting --installation iis,manual --installationsiteid 1 --script "./Scripts/PSScript.bat" --scriptparameters "{0} {5} C:\ProgramData\win-acme\httpsacme-v01.api.letsencrypt.org\mail.domain.com-all.pfx"
Then your SSL in your Exchange should change to the Let's encrypt one.
NOTE:See the source for the Import to Exchange SSL fix below:
Thank you for posting these instructions. I just ran this on a 2013 server and everything worked for the most part. The only issue I ran into is that the certificate only generated 1 of the 2 names on the certificate.
"--manualhost mail.domain.com,autodiscover.domain.com" included the first domain but not the autodiscover domain as a subject alternative name. Any idea what I am missing?
Thanks

RE: Exchange 2016 Let's Encrypt Setup
I figured it out. I added single quotes at the beginning and end of the domain list.

If you happen to have a Synology onsite, they also offer Active Backup For Office 365. I'm using this at a small client's site with ~40 mailboxes. Works pretty well.
Keep in mind Active Backup is only available on certain models of Synology. I believe mostly on the plus models. It is an awesome software though.

MS SAM Audit
I had a client forward this to me today. I assume a handful of you have gone through this before. Is this basically the self audit? If they do decide to do the audit, do we just fill in the info on the website and then wait to hear back?
Thanks
Following our recent communication, we are engaging your organization in a Microsoft License Verification Process. This process is designed to review the Microsoft software you have deployed against your corresponding license and subscription entitlements. Just in case you have a 3rd party IT provider or if you outsource or its handled by corporate headquarters , you can loop them in or forward this email to them to check validity.
To begin, you will receive access to a Software Asset Management (SAM) portal called, Microsoft insight. This portal will be used to collect, analyze and manage your software licensing. Simply input your software usage and compare it to your ownership entitlements to assist you with Microsoft licensing compliance. A centralized view and guided recommendations will help you manage your IT environment efficiently and shape your IT priorities.

RE: ZeroTier Bridging Configuration
@dafyre - I had used your instructions a while back and everything worked perfectly. A couple weeks ago, I was setting this up for someone else and couldn't get it to work. After messing around with it for a while I noticed that Zerotier has the Rules section in the control panel. I took the rules from my old working setup and pasted them into the rules on the newer network. Everything worked perfectly after that. Not 100% sure what was different from the old rules vs the new ones but definitely a change in their default Rules makes it not work correctly.

POS recommendation for a small bar
Can anyone recommend a decent POS software for a bar with a single register?
I am looking for something that can:
- Run on Windows or possibly just browser based - not looking for iPad or Android App (screens are too small)
- Keeps track of tabs
- Happy Hour/Specials option
- Accept Credit Cards
- End of day reports
A nice looking interface wouldn't hurt either. Some of the open source options are pretty brutal looking.
Appreciate any feedback. Thanks!
