@art_of_shred I think the point is completely lost in there. Electric vehicles are the future and they will be much better for the environment. While today's technology may not be perfect that is how we humans progress - one step at a time. It sounds like you are arguing that we shouldn't bother and just continue our destructive ways. That is not progressing anything.

Plus they are WAY quicker than a gas car!

I would like to get a Model 3.

If $$$ was no object, I would go total opposite...a Model 3 for driving around and a F-150 Raptor for the fun times!

I would go back to being a forklift operator. I was good at it. I worked at the Miller Brewing Company in my 20's. I loaded and unloaded the trucks, unloaded trains, I trained others for OSHA certifications, the works. I had so much fun.

But that is a great boost.

I think you are correct. From the article: "Many of the jobs will be in new fulfillment centers and will range from engineering to software-development roles, the company said."

To add 100,000 means they will go to 280,000 total in U.S. That's like a 60% boost (from my poor math) in jobs. Wow!

One thing I have always lived by...A garage is a house for the car.

Blasphemy. I think I've parked a car in my garage once or twice. That space is far too valuable to park cars there that can exist perfectly well outside in the driveway!

I have enough room in my house to where having the car in there is perfectly fine.

I can appreciate that. Personally, I think I'd have to relinquish my man card before I'd be able to allow that space to be used as a parking facility.

Could also depend on where you live. I get 70" of snow a year, so having a garage is a good thing.

I'm in western NY. We get a decent amount of snow. Not sure it measures up to 70" a year, to be honest. I'm too lazy to look it up. I have a fairly long driveway, so I still need to run the snow blower, regardless of where the cars are kept.

If the cars are out of the way, even better.

My GF's father has a 330' driveway. That is a total nightmare to snow blow!!

Very true... and I have no excuses, my garage is a double. I still have tons of crap around from moving in... last summer.

I am lucky where I have 2 sheds, so I have a summer shed and a winter shed.

The only thing in my garage (other than a few bins) is my snow blower...which will go into the winter shed once I no longer need it. I put the snow blower behind my car when there is snow and in front when there isn't. It's a good system.

@Dashrender said in If you could get a Bachelor's Degree for under $8,000 in less than a year... would you?:

Maybe what Scott's saying is that the degree doesn't matter because in reality there are no jobs to be had. So having a degree, not having a degree, really doesn't matter because there are no jobs.

I would have to disagree with you on that. It depends on the area, obviously. Plenty in the Boston area. Hell, I've seen articles talking about a lack of candidates for IT jobs there.

This is just me generally speaking, but you don't need it to be successful. I can think of 1 example right off the top of my head. My best friend doesn't have a degree, yet works for ADP at home and he's in the 6 figures.

      Awesome doggie!!

My littlest one if you notice, has a sweater on. He will not go outside to do his business without it. He shivers in the cold.

That's my daughter with my cousin's dog. This is the house that we are staying at right now. The dog's name is Bianca.

      Ahhh, I C.

My dogs' names left to right are Jersey, Zeus, and Pablo. Zeus keeps the other 2 in line. You can tell he is all business just by the look on his face. He's real good though. Dedicated to his mother like you wouldn't believe. She has a seizure 2 nights ago and I had to literally drag him off of her so I could tend to her.

Ah, that could be part of it. We had two terriers growing up (a Yorkshire and a Scottish) neither of them could be in the car for more then a few minutes without freaking out.

My other 2 love it, but her...ugh!!

Doggies!!! I'll take them all (if I was even close to Dallas).

I'm sure we can find someone to deliver them 😉

That would be one hell of a trip!

One of my dogs came from Tennessee. She is TERRIFIED of cars and even a short, 5 minute trip to the vet is a process.

What kind of dog? Every golden retriever or lab we've owned loved going for rides. It was the terriers that had issues.

She is Weimaraner/ Jack Russell mix. When we got her, we put her in a crate in the back seat. Within 5 minutes, she pooped in the crate because she was so nervous. She's 2 now and still poops when nervous.
