Thursday's Pizza. The date of pizza is directly linked to the date the pizza was baked. I even go further in saying getting a pizza while out drinking at 2 am Friday, while drinking started on Thursday night, would still be considered Thursday's pizza if you were warming it back up to attempt to cure a hangover Friday afternoon.

RE: First tattoo
Looks sharp! Be careful they are addicting. I started off with 1, now I have both arms in 1/4-1/2 sleeve, my back, and a Motorola bag phone on the back of my leg.

RE: What are you listening to? What would you recommend?
@art_of_shred Yeah, not a lot of shredding going on... I completely burned my self out on metal in my teens and twenties, now I am into more catchy easy going indy music.

RE: Chromebooks 1366 x 768 or 1920 x 1080?
With either one you can always change the default font size, and train the user how to zoom. I think the 1920x1080 would be fine. The biggest thing I have seen between Chomebooks is avoid the 2GB RAM models. It really needs 4 to work well.

A marketing promo, that tells me I'm so smart, that I don't have time for marketing or promos... Nice.

RE: Windows Group Policy Client: log on failed.
Bad dns config, bad system naming, or network speeds can cause systems to fall off the domain. When this happens I usually just delete the computer account from the domain, rejoin the computer to the domain, and move on.

RE: What are your sales email no-nos?
Personally if I get a Template email, I delete it. If I keep getting bothering with constant emails, I will choose another product on principal, even if I liked it. The only way a sales person will influence me is to get to know me, have a honest personal conversation with me about what they have to offer, and not be offended if someone else makes a product that is a better fit for my current needs. Also, there is nothing worse than getting a marketing email from someone who can not even begin to answer the first technical question I ask with with out "Checking on that for me"

RE: Configuring DNS for a Sandbox Lab
Thanks for the advice Scott, but my clients are not all using the same OS. I am 1 step away. Here is what I have
MacBook:~ Scottie$ nslookup Server1 192.168.0.1
Server: 192.168.0.1
Address: 192.168.0.1#53Name: Server1
Address: 192.168.0.150Howerver : MacBook:~ Scottie$ nslookup Server1 returns ** server can't find gitlab: SERVFAIL with just my local DNS servers. I have 192.168.0.1 added to the DNS settings for the VPN, but it is like they are not being added.

Configuring DNS for a Sandbox Lab
I am setting up a little virtual lab and network off of my main network with a PPTP VPN to access it. We can call this "Operation Hide my Linux Toys." I have 2 VM's so far. VM1 we will call Server1, VM2 we will call VPNServer has 2 NIC's configured one on the internal 192.168.0.0/24 network, one on the main company network. Server1 has 1 NIC static assigned at 192.168.0.150. I have edited the hosts file on VPNServer to have a record for Server1 to return 192.168.0.150. When I connect my laptop to VPNServer via PPTP, I get a ip on the 192.168.0.0 network, and I can ping 192.168.0.150. What is the easiest way to set this up so I can have Server1 on my laptop VPN client resolve that to 192.168.0.150. I was thinking setting up a DNS Server on VPNServer, but that seems like overkill for a hand full of servers I would just put in my hosts file.

RE: My Journey to Becoming a Linux End User on Linux Mint
I know exactly where you are coming from. I am currently using OSX with VM Fusion running a Windows 7 domain connected box, and a Linux Mint system all as full screen side by side desktops. OSX and Windows have shared user file space, so the Desktop and Documents has the same files, and I can just change OS with a 3 finger swipe. I haven't found a perfect 1 size fits all OS. Somethings I prefer doing in Mac, Some things work better in Windows, and occasionally I need something in Linux. Having the option to "change" OS's instantly with a swipe works best for me.

RE: Cooking Gear
A good seasoned vintage cast iron skillet. I have my grandmothers. She was born in 1916, and the pan was forged sometime between 1890-1950. It is so seasoned in I can fry an egg with out it sticking, and there is something about cooking with it that warms the soul. You can get a good one for less than $50 at a antique store. Skip the new ones, they aren't made the same.
