Unitrends Free for Other Platforms
Will Unitrends Free be available for anything other than VMware and HyperV once it comes out of beta? I would love to download and play around with it, just for learning, on my desktop with VirtualBox or something like that.

RE: Fixing My Resume
Why mention or attempt to justify the "bad time period" on the resume at all? Don't draw attention to it, let the employer maybe decide that it is bad. If you do what you describe you are not just calling it out and pointing to it, but you are stating it in a way that declares it to be a failure. There is no reason to do that. You had a string of jobs - so what? That alone is not a problem. You moved around to different places - so what? Nothing wrong with that, many people would brag about having worked in multiple regions and having more experience not just with jobs but with locations and cultures. And the two are generally assumed to be tied together because chances are you changed jobs so that you could move or you moved for a job. Both generally are "freebies" in the job change game.

I've got a Motorola (why did they have to sell to Lenovo of all companies!) G4 Plus, the one with 4GB ram that nobody reviews. It's been so much better than even my Nexus 5 was.
True, while Lenovo still are making new phones with the brand like Motto M
http://www.gsmarena.com/motorola_moto_m-8299.php
But still it is scary to buy from Lenovo, reviewers said that the Android OS looks and feels like stock like the usual but now we cant be sure, Lenovo have habit for injecting weird crap that you cant remove. For me I am liking and loyal to HUAWEI , I actually like their ROM, sure its not anything near Android stock, but I like the extras, I found them professional and helpful and non intrusive.
Had P8 Lite for 2 years and now NOVA Plus, and happy with the new phone. The only thing it is missing is WiFi ac and dual band but for me that is not an issue
I wasn't much of a Motorola fan before they sold to Lenovo. Even less of one now. They were great in the 1980s, but the late 1990s were not good to Motorola. I miss the M68000 days.
Toughest phone I ever owned was a little Motorola Startac flip phone.
My Nokia laughs in your general direction.
I think the actual model was the Nokia Brick
In Soviet Russia, Nokia phone bricks you!

RE: Where to start?
NethServer is a "it does everything for you" product. If your goal is to learn Linux, NethServer would do exactly the opposite - it would keep you from the Linux so that you don't need to learn any of it.

RE: What Do You Call a User That Is Out of ASM?
You could call them "foolish" or "screwed"

Standard Plugins for WordPress Sites
Okay, I know that this is awfully subjective. But what standard plugins do you "always" use for your WordPress sites? There are some that just seem like no brainers and should be standard for most any deployment.
Here is what I am thinking so far, would like to hear opinions of what other people use, like, whatever.
- Breeze: by Cloudways. This handles cache, integrates with Varnish, and does minification.
- CloudFlare: Assuming you have CloudFlare for your site, this integrates the CDN cache.
- JetPack: Integrates with WordPress stuff.
- Really Simple SSL: Handles SSL complexities.
- WordFence: Can be a pain, but provides some protection, monitoring, etc.
Is there something I should be considered for more speed? Some of these don't make sense?

Just tried SW again, still isn't working right. Logins are now working for me, but posting is still not working. Looks to me like performance issues.
Simple solution... stop trying.

64bit Chrome Released
Google has finally promoted 64bit Chrome as stable and claims that it is massively more stable and quite a bit faster than its old, 32bit sibling. Time to upgrade Chrome.

RE: Ransomware tweets every time someone pays the ransom
Maybe Webroot should have a tweet for everytime that it is blocked!

RE: VMware Sued Over Unlicensed Use of Linux Kernel Code
Maybe they do. They've only been sued, not found guilty or liable or whatever. Could be that they are totally innocent and wrongfully accused. Although the developer must feel that he has a really compelling case to take on someone like VMware. That is not a trivial suit.

Pwn9 Drops CloudatCost
http://pwn9.com/news/pwn9-withdraws-its-support-cloudatcost
In our minds, CloudAtCost has solidifed themselves as the absolute worst server hosting provider that has ever, and likely will ever exist... period.
It's not that:
- Their have terrible uptime
- They have persistent problems during their uptime with poor performance either of their network, disk I/O, and more.
- They act unilaterally without warning on things such as migrations and reboots that cause downtime for your server, without giving opportunity to prepare.
- They have absolutely terrible customer support.
What really gets under our skin is that, we (Pwn9) won a contest, for a server to host minecraft. It took 4 months of constant nagging to get them to actually provide us that server after they had informed us that we had "won". Now, barely 5 months into actually having that server, and a year after actually winning it, they have without warning, without the opportunity to warn our community, to back up our files... taken the server down.
The claim was a hardware failure.. so, add to customer support issues, blatent lying. It is our belief that CloudAtCost was simply spiteful that Sage wrote an honest blog about our issues with our paid CloudAtCost servers, and like an angry child left the playground taking their ball with them.

RE: Even New IT Guy....
Let's face it, every time any one of us comes into a job or site after someone else has been there, the reaction is always the same.
