I didn't even bother with 3D TV's. Always thought it was a way for them to jack up the prices. When I buy movies, I mainly want the Blu-Ray disc and never ever concerned with the 3D disc.

However, I am currently waiting for the price of 4k players to come down so that I can get one of those and begin playing 4k movies in true 4k. But with the evolution of technology still increasing, I am starting to believe that discs in general will eventually become a thing of the past.

I don't think there is a consumer market 4k player yet, is there? The only sources I know of are streaming services like Netflix and Prime.

There are some 4k players out there, but they're still pretty pricey. Looking at about $300+ for a player.

Trying to persuade the boss to forget SpiceWorld and let me go to MangoCon. Its been difficult thus far.

What's the reasoning? They have their similarities, but the tech is so much more focused at MC. There are videos for him to watch and compare.

I think the only reason why he wants to go is to see what he missed before it goes under.

He went to SW '15, but spent most of the time actually working remotely instead of getting to attend but a few seminars.

I got some things out of SW '15, but feel like it didn't go deep enough for the times allotted for the sessions. That is why I am wanting to go to MC '17. Deeper technical dives instead of high-level flyovers or marketing speals.

$20/yr? Man that is bringing in the dough. That is like a little over $1.50 a month. That's almost a whole Dr. Pepper.

All systems go, except the movement trace of an upper stage engine steering hydraulic piston was slightly odd. Standing down to investigate.

@NerdyDad Hi, I am with S3, and we may be interested in buying your e-waste! Would you like to give us a call? (615) 873-4466 (my ext. is 233). For more information about us, you can check out s3mgmt.com. This is not a spam account, btw. I am the marketing director here and happened to stumble across this thread while working 🙂

Can you provide certificate of destruction for hard drives? That would be the only catch.

Also, @JaredBusch, do you get some kind of kickback for referring others to T-Mobile? Such as a code or something?

Never looked if they have a referral program or not.

      Just googled it, they do.

    • Reputable e-Waste Recycler in Dallas Fort Worth

Looking for a reputable e-waste recycler in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. I am finding some around me, but wanted to reach out to see if anybody locally had any recommendations.

I contacted tech-away.com out in Royse City, but he doesn't seem too interested in coming and picking up nearly a full pallet of equipment.

I'm in Dallas, just north of Duncanville.

T-mobile's current plan is unlimited and 10gb for tethering.

      0_1487345891514_upload-fe46abcb-cbaa-4fa0-856e-fcad26534a4d

The fine print at the bottom of that add:

Qual’g plan req’d. On all T-Mobile plans, if congested, top 3% of data users (>28GB/mo.) may notice reduced speeds due to prioritization. Sales tax & regulatory fees included in mo. service price. No cost HD feature US only. After 10GB, tethering at max 3G speeds. See more

I've been debating on leaving Sprint and going to T-Mobile. I only use 6 GB/month of data on my phone alone, max. 10 GB of data for a laptop wouldn't be a problem at all for me to manage.

Also, @JaredBusch, do you get some kind of kickback for referring others to T-Mobile? Such as a code or something?

Are they still in business? We need to follow up on that, lol.

They are supposed to be paying for hosting. We maintain and migrate that server and host it. We have been providing service all this time.

      Possibly for free?

      Clearly.

I'm worried about the wireless too. We need something really good.

Maybe one of the new AmpliFI HD Mesh Router's? Amplifi Router 5 LAN ports and 1 WAN, I'm not seeing size or weight on the site.

5 lbs or about 2.25 kgs.
