      This is the reason their revs are higher than ever despite the fact fewer people use their stuff than ever before. Never ending vendor lock in. They wont even let you export your own data--allegedly

      The timeframe is the last 5 weeks. I bought 2 things with the company card. Card getting cancelled just in case; although there have been no rogue charges on my company card.

      @dustinb3403 I knew it was an issue 10 years ago, at that time we bought Netwrix File Audit.
      10+ GD years later this problem still exists.

    • Python Print() Syntax

      Say i want to print some stuff to terminal screen

      name = "matt"
      dob = "1980"
      print(name,dob)
      print(name + " ",dob)

      Result is the same. Is there a reason Thonny chooses to teach me method 2? Is it just to illustrate concatenation with strings and variables in print function?

      The PDFs linked in this article are quite detailed.
      IP addresses, file names, file hashes, dns names.
      Powershell script names, exe names with details of how it all works together.
      Pretty damning stuff here.

    • php72 on Fedora

      https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/php72
      This still isnt available in Fedora without adding remi-repo.

      Current status

          Targeted release: Fedora 28
          Last updated: 2018-03-02
          Tracker bug: #1474939

      Certainly this isnt true, end of year before it is added?

      Detailed Description
      Update the PHP stack in Fedora to latest version 7.2.x.
          PHP 7.2.0 is planed for end of year, which seems compatible with Fedora roadmap.
      Compatibility for PHP code is very good.

      Perhaps the editor forgot to update this with a newer date. I mean, 7.2 is already in debian, the most conservative distro.
      edit: just saw the Fedora 28 release part.

    • abuse@ reporting

      Anybody ever use abuse@somedomain for sending abuse complaints, and get them resolved? Just got a bunch of mysql injection attempts to our portal site from a datacenter/hosting company in Dallas, sent in abuse report through the hosting company website. I think this is the first time i have done so.

    • TLS 1.1, 1.2 on Win 7,8, Server 2012

      According to this
      https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/3140245/update-to-enable-tls-1-1-and-tls-1-2-as-a-default-secure-protocols-in
      Windows 7 8 and Server 2012 dont support tls 1.1 or 1.2 even after being fully patched. You must add these registry entries to enable these 2 types of connections for client-server applications. Is this correct?

      @jaredbusch said in Machine software unabel to connect to new SQL server:

      Jsut found this in the registry. It was set to 1 by default. I changed to to 0.

      [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SecurityProviders\SCHANNEL\Protocols\SSL 2.0\Client]
      "DisabledByDefault"=dword:00000000

      @jaredbusch This is the problem. That error is a handshake error means it cant negotiate.
      XP supports ssl 3.0
      SQL 2014 does as well, this shouldnt be a problem.
      Have you checked how the odbc settings on xp is connecting to the sql server?
