About twice a day, randomly for about 10-15 seconds i will hit Start button with mouse or keyboard and nothing happens. Been happening since RTM release almost 2 years ago. Home and work.
It is infuriating.
Anybody else?

Marco Polo on NF. Despite wild historical inaccuracy, story is pretty good. A bit like Shogun but in China.

RE: What Are You Doing Right Now
@penguinwrangler said in What Are You Doing Right Now:
Just rode the bus to work for the first time. They opened a nice new park n ride station near my house and my work will pay for a bus pass, which means I don't have to pay for parking, which was $100 a month.
Riding bus in Seattle is $5.50 a day at least. 6 really since nobody uses change.
Car Insurance 45 dollars/month. Full can of gas 64 dollars(16 gallons@4/gal) which lasts the whole month usually unless i drive out the city.
Costs less for me to drive to work than ride the bus. -
RE: Firefox Multi-Account Containers
@kelly Still doesn't render Unitrends web interface correctly, still same bugs on SW as v56 but it does run better.

RE: Random Thread - Anything Goes
@penguinwrangler Id disagree and say who cares about what food kids like? They havent earned it. Let them eat that garbage, esp if parents are too stupid/lazy to give them worthwhile food. Also, who in the world likes elementary school food? It is the worst food of all time. Horse meat and sawdust sandwiches...

RE: BRRABill's Field Report With Linux
Just posting this
I recently rebuilt and redesigned the local lan here. Had to because of gear failure.
My old issue in XS of not being able to export vms quickly is gone. It had remained even after Citrix said they fixed the issue, so i now think it was something old sysadmin had done to cripple communications between networks(intentional or not i dunno).
Now when i export vms i am exporting at around 500Mbps through Xencenter, using 7.1 and 6.5. Unheard of in the past on this network. -

Enhanced security for Windows virtual machines by support for Bromium Secure Platform Changed Block Tracking API (for enhanced backups) New and expanded guest OS support Support for VLAN tagging on management and storage network interfaces IGMP snooping for IPv4 multicast support SMB v3.0 for ISO storage repositories (SRs) Improvements to XenServer Conversion Manager Localization for Email Performance Alerts Support for BIOS Asset Tags Citrix Director integration Enablement for XenDesktop Tablet Mode (enables Windows 10 Continuum experience in virtualized desktop environments)

Ads for 3rd party stuff in Win10 1803...
Seriously wtf.
Just installed 1803 on a computer, hit start and there is this Dolby Access shit in the middle of the start menu. It is a store app that is an ad for Dolby Atmos headphones, yet looks like it is just a regular windows program in the Start Menu. -
RE: BSOD - Any Ideas?

RE: openvas test results
I think they are applied and that openvas is being dumb.

RE: Had a vulnerability assessment with Nessus and it found hundreds of missing critical Windows OS updates from as far back as 2016 - is this even right?
You could sort of double check the results yourself by installing the free openvas vm appliance and scanning a few systems to see if the results are similar to Nessus' results. It only takes a few minutes to setup a basic scan

RE: Where is this?
Dunno, never been there. The hole in that huge cliff face is awesome.
