Why aren't the values automatically deducted when sending information out if we know the length needed for the OSI layer?

Is there a threshold when going from Unicast to Broadcast?

RE: Broadcast Domains and Collision Domains - CompTIA Network+ N10-007
Can anyone give me an example of a broadcast domain? This seems a bit basic. It made me think of things like push notifications, so I'm not sure if I'm getting the concept.

Does the communication between 2 switches need to be configured or does that happen automatically as well?

A little disappointed that he spent 10 mins of this video on hubs and only 3 on stuff we may actually work with.

I thought UDP doesn't give an answer back to whatever PC sent the info? He said it does, am I wrong here?

RE: Introduction to IP - CompTIA Network+ N10-007 Prof Messer
Can someone go over any issues they may have with ports? From the way it is explained it doesn't seem like it would be an issue, so I'm curious if this is the case.

RE: Windows HomeGroups, WorkGroups, and Domains - CompTIA A+ 220-1002 Prof Messer
Is there any alternative to home group now that it isn't available on Windows 10? Also why would you use workgroup instead of Windows Domain? Is it a cost issue?

This may be basic but, can cookies damage your system in anyway? It's one of those things that a lot of sites require you to accept, and an average user just accepts them.

Do any of you use task manager to troubleshoot what if there is an issue with a PC? I'm trying to get a sense of the steps people go through.

RE: Windows Firewall with Advanced Security - CompTIA A+ 220-1002 Prof Messer
I know that people have other firewalls besides Windows defender, why is that the case if you already have one? Do you have to turn off defender to use it?

@xrobau I'm an intern and nothing you have listed is a special feature. I honestly thought you were a salesman or vendor on this thread.

RE: Windows Administrative Tools - CompTIA A+ 220-1002 Prof Messer
Is there a list anywhere of the Windows command prompts, or do you usually look at the help to look at options? I realize the more seasoned IT person would have a lot of these committed to memory, but just starting out this is a bit overwhelming. There seem to be a lot of them to keep track of.
