@Scott These things are funny to talk about, but why do it? It is your money being spent for the inbound call.

It's doesn't have to be about the money.

It is always about the money.

That's why you are you and I am me.

This could also work. If your carrier is Verizon, it is usually slightly more painful to do.

It is, plus that means rebuilding the whole eco.. If I am going to do that, I will get a new phone too.

I've been reading around different forums, I am one of several million people very unhappy about this update!

    • Unifi - Allow Public SSID access to one server on LAN

I have to enable access to a Listen Everywhere server by https://www.listentech.com

First things first, I need to be able to access 192.168.0.5 and 192.168.0.6 from the open SSID that has guest policy enabled.

.5 and .6 are on the corporate lan.

I can ping them from the open SSID with Guest Policy enabled, but ICMP, DNS, and DHCP are never isolated between lan and SSID, so pinging is not a valid test.

The user says their app, does not connect to .5 or .6

The app is doing a scan of some sort to find the Listen Everywhere server, but we don't know what kind of scan it is doing. Maybe a broadcast?

I want to start with the basic settings to allow a client on the open SSID with guest policy enabled to access ONLY the .5 and .6 devices on the LAN.

What Is unknown to me, thank to UBNT's great documentation, is whether the PRE-Authorization Access trumps the Post Authorization Restrictions. Also, if it is an open network, is the even a post authorization upon which restrictions can be applied?

For those of you that use it on your smartphones, do you really take notes on your phones? I just can't find it to be productive at all. I guess my fingers are too big, or i am just too old!

I do. I like being able to take notes, throw it in my pocket and catch up on my desktop later.

Do you use voice to text at all?

That would solve my thumb issues!

    • RE: Joplin, an Open Source Note Application with NextCloud Sync

I use Notes, built in to NC. I like it. Thought I'd give Joplin a try, I have never needed to use markup for notes, so it'll be fun to see how it goes.

I installed it on my Windows Desktop first.
      Then on my Android phone.

In less than 5 minutes I found two startup annoyances 😞 First, if you don't catch the fact that you have to save your changes in the Android App before you leave the screen, you'll be re-typing your NC url again!

The next thing I immediately noticed was after the first sync, I now have Duplicate Tags in the nav menu. For each of the factory installed notes, I have one for each of the two notebooks. I can fix it by deleting them, but still........ My tags are already cluttered and I haven't even made a note!

For those of you that use it on your smartphones, do you really take notes on your phones? I just can't find it to be productive at all. I guess my fingers are too big, or i am just too old! 🙂

      That's known as 🌶 pricing.

But to go off on a rampage about unpublished pricing is completely off base here. (And not the first thread I have seen it in)
      A.) they do publish pricing,
B.) if he was referring to the "special" pricing, well.... it should not be published.

@JaredBusch said in Skyetel auto enables billable services without notice:

I already did not like them because of their hidden true pricing.

How is the pricing at https://skyetel.com/pricing/ not true pricing? If you do not negotiate a better deal, then that is what you will pay. How is that not true?
Show me the thread where you went after an auto manufacturer for posting the retail price in the window sticker instead of the "Hidden" price you are likely to actually pay.

None of this is directed at you, Scott. I know you know how businesses stay in business. (say that ten time real fast)

    • RE: Skyetel auto enables billable services without notice

Looking at this from a reseller perspective......I would never do business with a company that published reseller pricing to the public. How on earth would you survive if your customers knew your costs for the products you are reselling to them? And yes, I can justify our margins, but why the hell would I want to have that battle, when it is completely unnecessary?

its not that hard to figure out once you get into it.

I think you keep missing my point. We work with POS systems all day, everyday. They're stupid. We don't appreciate them. I think you might understand that, based on your question here. I suppose if you stay in a pigeon hole, you can learn to get along with POS systems, but the industry as a whole applies a different phrase to POS for very good reason.

I'm eager to share our knowledge, experience and troubleshooting techniques with you if you need some help. Right now, I'm most interested in the serial capature @Pete-S suggested.
