Vultr is running an awesome referral deal right now. I bought from the banner on the site to support ML and I got pleasantly surprised with $30 worth of credit for $5. You get $20 for signing up through a referral and additional $5 when adding money with paypal. I only added $5 and have a $30 balance.

We got really lucky that the storm weakened and went offshore a bit at the last minute.

At one point they thought it was gonna hit us directly as a category 5, but when it was all said and done it was a category 3 and it stayed offshore a little bit.

There's damage and flooding, but it could be worse. I gave no idea how bad my house is, but about 50 miles inland it isn't too bad.

Just a couple notes from the article:

1. You cannot set a bootloader password for AWS or other cloud services

2. Apt Armor is specific to Ubuntu / Debian. SELinux is used on RHEL / CentOS / Fedora

Just to CYA you should probably get HR to open a ticket with exactly what they want so it's documented.

This isn't right... This is the opposite of how intelligent people think. As professionals we should want to be challenged. Scientists, engineers, IT, etc all do better with challenges. If I am wrong about something point it out!

We are generally talking about making decisions with hundred of thousands or millions of dollars daily. Who the hell wouldnt want to be called out if they are doing something wrong?

I understand where the MangoCon organizers are going through. I have organized many events in the past and you wouldn't believe all the work that is done behind the scenes. It is especially difficult the first time you organize a large event like this. From my experience first time events like this tend to be the best events. Are there going to be hiccups? of course. However, the organizers are going to give 110% to make sure that everyone is happy.

We have a google link on our company intranet page that points to google.com. Apparently, since the site was redesigned yesterday there is no google link.

I have been testing Pertino the past couple weeks and I really like it. I was thinking it could be something that we implement for our IT department.
