Is the user getting duplicate reminders in OWA?

      Great question!

Is the PST still mapped? I'm guessing now since you mentioned I mentioned redoing the profile.

I think he deleted and recreated the profile. I would think that there is no PST mapped or attached at this point. When he deletes and recreates that profile it pulls mail down from the Exchange Server and builds an OST file.

OWA is a good test since it rules out any local issues with Outlook and Outlook profiles.

No, the 302 redirect is on the website/hosting from the old website. The redirect you are using is only for the home page also, which is why this page is still working: http://pinnaclemetalbuildings.com/contact.html

PostgreSQL to get precedence today and Oracle to be an afterthought.

Especially considering oracles prices are plain crazy. Though dynamics isn't exactly cheap.

Cost is a factor but not the big one. PostgreSQL is up there in the top echelons of enterprise databases today (it's what IBM ran internally when I was there and IBM owns Informix and DB2!!) and is what most modern development platforms (like Ruby on Rails) as their de facto standard and what most large hosting environments (Heroku, OpenShift) provide as their standard relational database. That is pretty what has propelled it from being a big player to being the database to beat in recent years.

PostgreSQL and SQL Server will likely be the last two big players that matter in the RDBMS space. Even MySQL / MariaDB is fading from the PostgreSQL onslaught these last few years.

The big competition for both is coming from the NoSQL camp, not other RDMBSs.

HyperV has limits too on free. Just not the backup API. If you go down the "features for free" list you'd go to XenServer every time.

Yeah, I believe it's doing a much better job with windows virtualization than it used to. It used to be somewhat slow/laggy with windows and linux ran great but now days it seems to be on par with ESXi.

It's getting there. No way it could be considered on par, but pretty good, yes. HyperV is still the fourth place on technology but second place in the SMB marketplace. VMware and Xen are the technology leaders and the enterprise market leaders. KVM is the overall backrunner with no good spot in the market but IBM and Red Hat dollars working hard to keep it viable. HyperV is the last place on technology but with massive Microsoft investment, marketing muscle and the simplicity of being under the same umbrella as most other software in the SMB space which seems to be the only factor, other than confusion, driving SMBs to use it (there was a time when nearly every HyperV install was done through misunderstanding.)

If HyperV did not have backups included or if VMware did have them included in the free version, HyperV would again have little purpose in the market.

Once I can get caught up on Sys. Admin stuff (will I ever), I have a long term plan for this (and thanks to everyone here.)...first up is understanding the total process of every VBA project, starting with the most complex one. Then the code and basics of VBA. finally, learn the best language to do what these processes in.

I've got access to several good VBA books, Channel 9, Lynda.com...finding the time...that's the trick...

Better then what I have / had.

Last office was a folding table with a HP ML350 on it... The other new Dell PE2900 was on the floor,.. the firewall - same place.. floor. With the 2 APC UPS 1500s.

Oh - the sprinkler head was right above it all.. Poor design / placement for the network infrastructure.

New office has 2 buildings in a H floor plan. End of each main hall is a utility closet, half with the HVAC, other half....well. stuff.

Of the 12 closets I have 7 servers sitting in them,.. no real ventilation on each.. It's a plan to deal with it, and a rack is planned...

Very helpful...didn't know you could turn it off. I actually got it working by deleting the cache folder (for the second time) but if I can turn it off and just save directly to my OneDrive folder on my Surface, I'll be good.

Well it is not 100% off! But, it is set to only keep 1 day of revision, and also to delete from cache when you exit the document, so basically, if you save and close daily, you should have much less problems.

Yeah, I figured that out. I had a problem with it last night, even after the above...home budget spreadsheet...spent an hour working on things...saved it...went to pull it up and it gave me some garbage about something wasn't uploaded right or corrupted in the Office Upload Center and bam, it was gone. Luckily, OneDrive website has a great version history you can restore from. Saved my rear!

@scottalanmiller said in Exchange Online Migration From POP3:

@Carnival-Boy still looking to move Sharepoint? Any progress.

I'd forgotten that Microsoft has killed Foundation (2013 will be the last version), so there is no longer a free version of Sharepoint. If you need it, you have to pay for it. I'd forgotten this even though I actually posted it on ML a year ago (I think my memory is going in my old age).

Add that to the fact that it appears that migrating from on-premise to online is not a simple task (compared with say Exchange), and I'm coming round to thinking it would be foolish to further invest in Sharepoint Foundation 2013 and we're better off moving to Sharepoint online asap. It will mean extra cost in the short-term, because we'll have to buy a load of O365 subscriptions, but less cost in the long-term (as eventually we will have to migrate from on-premise to online since Foundation is the only product that makes financial sense on-premise and Foundation has been killed).
