Ouch. Of course, I probably have to do nearly that much by train to get to a testing center so I am likely in a similar boat.

Anything "Office" related for certification seems to be in Memphis for me...everything else is up the road at a college or in Little Rock.

      Good to know...never knew this...

Yeah. Don't worry about those PCs because you can easily prove they are licensed. Microsoft isn't going to challenge an OEM license on a Dell box anyways.

      Thanks guys...you all are invaluable...

I use PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, MongoDB, Sybase, MS SQL Server, MariaDB, Oracle, SQLite or whatever fits the need at the time. Those are the ones that I used most of the time, though. But with so many new ones coming out now, using different databases for different things is more and more common.

Trying to use consoles as a media center is what got me back into PC gaming. I use my PC as a media center, as the consoles always have stupid limitations.

That's what we are looking to do. More options, easier to use. Using the Wii U as a media center is impossible. The controls are horrible and you can't select a movie because even as a modern device it doesn't have enough horsepower to update the screen to show you what you are clicking on. It's ridiculous.

      Don't disagree with @Nic either...:)

I have to add that the Media Remote control for the XBOX one is very good, very easy to use and lights up when it detects movement. A far cry better from the functional but lackluster 360 media remote. Voice commands are also fun to use on the XBOX One, especially with media.

Is it always the same document that has the issue? Same font?

Happens to all paper sizes...all drivers and OSes (Windows 7 and 8.1)...even the built in paper path test and configuration pages...

Then that basically rules out software issues. Given the situation, there may be something wrong with the fuser, transfer roller, or a couple other components. I'd say it's time to replace the unit, unless you want to spend a small fortune getting an HP technician to look at it and only possibly fix it.

I am thinking it may be the transfer roller...I looked at it again and a plastic gear piece was sitting inside of it...didn't immediately see where it went but I have one on order just to see...would be amazing if that was the only problem.

Another common maintenance item on high volume printers.

I think it may have broke when I replaced it about 3-4 weeks ago, which is when this problem happened. But didn't equate it with that...ugggh.

      Well hopefully this fixes it!

@JaredBusch but whenever they talk about the increase, they only talk about the commercial Office 365 tied accounts. The OneDrive consumer, which handles many more files, is never mentioned, that I can see, in conjunction with the space increase.

If you're looking to do a VDI install, buying an Enterprise Windows Server license will likely cost you WAY less (unlimited windows server installs)

That's why the DataCenter licensing (unlimited VMs per CPU) is popular as a VDI substitute. However not all software works correctly if it detects a server OS (AV often does this, for example.) And the per CPU licensing can make for some expensive mistakes as you are pricing on compute capacity instead of by the instance.

And once you get pretty large, you probably want some nice web gateway or other handler to improve the performance or ease of use. And that's when RDS hits you because those extended features come via the RDS packages. So if you are doing a small VDI setup for a few users, DataCenter licensing might work out for you. If you are looking to do an enterprise VDI deployment, actual VDI is probably actually the better way to go.

Correct, Adobe has moved to a pure subscription model.

I don't mind some subscription models (I actually like Office 365) but Abode's prices are just out of the park...

That's a completely different issue. They ALSO raised their prices. So now they cost more. If you were to have other buying options, they would cost just as much. The issue is that you don't like their new prices. That makes more sense.

I'd look to alternatives, Adobe operates on the assumption that their user base won't leave them at any price.

@garak0410 moving off of MS Office would be huge, I'm sure. Although, in theory, if you are using Access you can put the backend on SQL Server and at least not be tied to JetDB. Then you can use anything to access the data.

I had a Nokia Lumia 920.. It took great pictures that was about it. It was nice that it was streamlined. The browsers was lacking (only allowed 4-5 tabs) MS did not allow third-party browsers to be made. The apps are lack and most of them are just html wrappers (so an app the loaded the IE frameworks and made it 'hidden' to the user.

The browser now has unlimited tabs (at least I've seen mine have as many as 12.)...apps are getting better but they still do seem like the distant cousins of the other apps.

I'll hold on to my ICON as long as I can...fingers crossed they will get another flagship...the HTC One M8's camera is what would keep me from it.

You know, I have never actually seen that show. I have heard about it but it just never made it into my viewing cycle. Is it available on Netflix or anything?

It is not up for instant streaming per a streaming subscription. It can be purchased on Amazon Instant Video and XBOX Video or DVD.

It is well worth a viewing. Like I mentioned, overlook the aged special effects and 80's attire/hair. The root of the story is about how blind many people can be to totalitarianism. it is worth watching both V and V: The Final Battle...the weekly 80's series, as mentioned, started strong but ended very badly (IE badly written and acted)...

Sounds interesting, but I cannot fathom paying for such garbage....lol

I was always told no support was offered on PLC/SCADA stuff if we did it our selfs. The upgrade from them usually comes with 1-3 year support. going cheaply in this area when they can control so much just may cost you your job if something goes wrong.

Upgrade your motherboard firmware if possible.

Which may be an issue of having a "cheap" tablet...not much support...I did boot off of the USB recovery drive to see if it would start a recovery...it did but touch screen wasn't responding...go figure...

is there only the one USB port on it? I wonder if you can use a USB hub so you can boot from a stick, and still have a USB keyboard/mouse

One Full USB, one MicroUSB and I have a Micro to FULL USB adapter I can try a hub on for seeing if a install works...just wondering about the touchscreen drivers if I go to 10...I guess I COULD do an UPGRADE to 10 but rarely like upgrades...I like clean installs..

Give it a shot. You haven't had the tablet too long so you can't have too much data on it. Worse case scenario its back to Windows 8.1
