That was always the scariest thing to me as well as a youth leader. I was fine when it was the teens but do a special service where all the adults are present and forget it!. Though learning to pray in Lingala was even scarier.

Even scarier, we had an altar call (like we usually do with the kids services) and while no kids came down, two adults did and came to me and I was like "Uh, oh..." but I just relaxed, listened to them and had prayer with them and it went well...a lot of growing that night...

My plan this week...closing my door 1-3 hours a day and getting my "basics" out of the way, which would be Excel and VBA. Master it as much as I can. We are crazy heavy with Excel and VBA and there is no avoiding it.

Digressing, last week was just too rough to start this. We installed new IP Cameras, so had to learn the software and how to configure the mobile apps for management to view. Heck, still learning and configuring how we want to record and retain.

I tend to look ahead on the big picture but I need to be proficient in this at least. THEN, I'll explore the other options as far as web-based programming. I also have an "elective" study of learning what we have in SharePoint Online since we've had it two years and never used it.

You may notice slowdowns as those NAS units use the Atom processor to handle the parity RAID system.

@Carnival-Boy you hit the proverbial nail there. People always do weird things like move from fast local disks to unnecessary SANs when virtualized get and believe that SANs are fast no matter how they are configured and assume their hardware issues are virtualization problems. People also confuse consolidation with virtualization which causes even more problems.

Sounds like my last job where pretty much everything had to run on our Xiotech (now Xio) SANS...before I left that job, we had moved to their ISE models (basically, a module of permanently installed, self-healing drives)...had some major firmware issues with them which I assume have been resolved.

A lot of these VBA projects have many For/Next loops that take an eternity to step through (F8)...I thought STEP OVER (SHIFT-F8) would get me through these but alas, doesn't seem to do it...either I am impatient for these For/Next loops take forever to get through, even holding down F8. Is there a faster way to get through these?

Been a while since I was in VBA but I think it is F5 to run to cursor? Stick the cursor in front of the next line after the loop and hit F5 (or whatever run to cursor is).

      dteEnd = Application.Sheets("Report").Range("$J$27").Value

This is a logic error. A cell can always be converted to a date if it is 0. it converts to midnight like that if you dump it into a date variable.

I would need to see the logic to troubleshoot more. Been a while since i used VBA.

      I'll give F5 a try.

What is interesting about this dteEnd thing, is at some breakpoints, it does show 1/6/2015 but near the end of the Macro, it gets assigned the 12:00 AM. And because someone else wrote this like 7 years ago and without knowing their logic, this has been a chore.

Charts and graphs are always nice.

Yep, this is basically what I do. Charts and graphs of helpdesk "performance". I think one of the biggest problems SMB IT has is that no one really cares what you do as long as everything is working, and no one is complaining about you.

I would love to go into historical uptime records and show that I have a much higher uptime ratio now with our new infrastructure then I did in the past... but really at that point it would just be stroking my own ego.

Exactly - and that is what everyone is complaining about - it's a huge step backwards, but thus far it's the only solution MS has found for devices that 16 GB of storage.

The place holders is what allowed OneDrive to work like a normal network share and allow applications to work like they always have.

Now we need to get new smart apps that understand cloud storage, and can plug into the APIs directly, pole the services directly OR MS needs to come up with MS service (local to the machine of course) that provides this interface, and the devs only need to write to the MS service.

I don't know, perhaps OneDrive already has this type of interface for traditional workstations/laptops?

So, do you think this only affects the Desktop OneDrive? Like on my 64GB 8 inch tablet, I should be able to open Word or Excel and there be an option to open and save to OneDrive, without that directory being synced to my PC via the desktop. That should still be, don't you think?

yes, this should be the case be it on the 64 GB 8 inch tablet or your laptop or desktop... Office 2013 understands OneDrive. It's legacy applications that don't.

Then there's hope! :)...I've yet to install Windows 10 on a daily machine...VM for now...

Dell verified this is OEM but didn't verify if I can use that "virtual key" to turn this into a 2008R2 Hyper-V host and use the virtual key for a single Virtual VM (which will be our SQL Server eventually).

That's not for Dell to verify. That's none of their business and there is no question on that. Server OEM can be virtualized. It's not a question.
