Not bad...and it generally works...just got to make sure we don't click on the "fake" DOWNLOAD buttons...:)

What about transactions / IOPS?
I'll check that next (been a busy few days)...oddly, these problems did not happen at all yesterday...period...and it hit me last night to check our Internet Monitor program, which actually runs on a second Hypervisor but does live monitoring and could take up a lot of bandwidth...sure enough. it had crashed and was not collecting. So, I've decided to leave it off today to see what happens and then turn it back on Thursday to see if the problem reoccurs.
I am desperate for an answer but this could be the problem...
I turned the Internet Monitor back on and made sure the agents were running on the PC's...within the hour, got two reports of this FILE ACCESS DENIED...side note, I've had a single user who does not run this Internet Monitor agent but when the Internet Monitor Server agent would run, he would get this error...and side note, not everyone got this error...so it could be a combo of network congestion and this program running...I will let it run the rest of the day and then I will turn off the server agent tomorrow and see what happens.

This is why MS has moved away from placeholders.
But that explanation made placeholders sound awesome. That doesn't explain why they moved away. It just makes it sound like they hate their customers
I'm almost thinking...you have unlimited storage (with Office 365) but you can't have it...Mmmmuuaaah
Does anyone out there have the Adobe Creative Cloud (Complete) and if so, how do you like it? I'm thinking of giving it a shot from a continued education point of view, to learn how to use a lot of the Adobe tools for future use in my career and eventually use it for personal use, especially Premiere Pro. I have access to training via Lynda.com and other sources.
Just curious...thanks...
We use the Office 365 Enterprise E1 exchange online play. I finally rolled out Skype For Business for all users (was just management and sales for a while) and it has been accepted by everyone and they are excited.
Except for one, gruff/crusty user. He first grumbled that he didn't want anyone know his "status" (Available, Away, Busy, etc.) Now, he just closes Skype when it starts.
We have no policy yet where they need to leave it on. But if we do, I was wondering if there were any admin settings/policies I could set so they cannot close it or change status manually? These were all stream installed from the Office 365 website and installed on Domain PC's.
Thanks.,..
We are a Dell shop and I've had very good luck with Dell and their support and have no plans on leaving them.
But I am looking to move our CPU intensive users to Core i7's and solid state hard drives but can't decide if I want to stay with the OptiPlex line or try the XPS line. Is the XPS still aimed at the high performance home user or has anyone tried them in the business world?
So does anyone have a clear understanding if PC's connected to a domain will get the free upgrade to Windows 10? I heard that if you log in locally, wait for the Windows 10 upgrade Icon to appear and then rejoin, then you will get the upgrade. But wanted to see if there was a better way or if, by license, those PC's even qualify for this.
These PC's are OEM's and not on a any volume license program.
Thanks...
I am not anti-Apple and have no bone to pick with them. I am just heavily invested in a Microsoft world both at work and home and just prefer their ecosystem...BUT.........
Not that Apples announcements were earth shattering but as always, they make it look new and cool. I've been a patient Microsoft fan since the day I finally let go of my Amiga in 1992 as my full time PC. I even embraced Pocket PC through Windows Mobile 6.5, Zune and I actually own a Kin.
But is it me or does everything they seem to do feel half-baked or abandoned? Serious...what is Microsoft doing in all they do? Why is Outlook (Windows 10 app) so buggy? What is the status of Kinect (some of us actually like it as a gaming device)? Why is Skype still not integrated and still showing LIVE ID's? Where are the tools to convert iOS and Android apps to Windows? Why has HoloLens been pushed way back? Where is our touch version of Windows Movie Maker? Where is a Microsoft equal to iLife? Why is waiting another 1-3 months for a flagship so painful? Where is the COHESION????? Why does everything and every idea seem so half-baked????
I totally love my XBOX One as a media center...I like Windows 10 despite it having a lot of half-baked features...I actually do use a third party app for my media, PLEX, since Microsoft Dropped Windows Media Center and it works quite well.
I think I have a legitimate vent here...LOL

Because OWA is the focus. The Mac email app is bad too.
I used a Mac recently for a short while and didn't test the Mail app much. iMovie wasn't as good as I was expecting either...
None of it is very good that I've found. The apps that they include seem pretty weak in general. I don't find the whole system very polished. Things are not well thought out and not intuitive and often obvious features are lacking or hard to find, which nearly amounts to the same thing.
One thing that is tough is that third party products seem to be really flaky on it. Not exactly Apple's fault, but something causes products that are solid on Windows to not work on OSX. Might be a lack of user base and testing and therefore care from the third party vendors, but the lack of third party stability is a huge issue.
Guess it is time to embrace multi-platform! No more eggs in one basket. PLEX as taught me that...I just love it...
I've been waiting on the new Lumia's but the wait has been so painful...using Windows 10 Mobile on my Lumia ICON now and I do like it but batter life is horrid. The iPhone 6s+ may be in my future since my work pays for it...
We have the Office 365 Enterprise E1 so we get Exchange Online and Skype For Business. We buy the Office Suite individually.
I upgraded my PC with Office 2016 Professional today and the older Skype for Business (via our Office 365 portal) is the old version and will not install with Office 2016 installed.
Is there a direct link to download Skype for Business 2016? I've tried searching for it and nothing has turned up.
Thanks...
We recently had a legal issue at work where the owner needed to provide email communication to and from a client who is trying to sue our company.
They needed emails that went back to when we were still on POP3 and local PST files and needed emails from an employee who is no longer here and PST files were deleted long ago.
So flash-forward to now. We are all on Office 365 Enterprise E1 plan and the inboxes all have 50GB of space and even with people with 20,000+ emails or more, they aren't even close to filling them up. Some still auto archive to a local PST but I want to get a uniform policy.
SO, looking for some tips on a simple email retention policy. We know any job related communication with a customer should be kept. Enforcing a user to keep job related emails may be tough.
And should we still auto archive to a PST considering we have so much online storage and may not run out for many years?
Thanks...

Can you disable the firewall on the SQL server temporarily and try it? You might fine that it needs more configuration.
Yep...got in that way...I knew it was a "duh" moment...but now to find out what else to allow in the Firewall.
@scottalanmiller said:
You should be able to allow the application rather than just opening ports. That is a more advanced and secure firewall methodology.
Yeah, sorry...one of the first things I did...I removed it and re-added it and now it works...go figure...
I did fire back up my ICON for the rest of the weekend, just to get a feel of both in a short period of time...no Spiceworks app! LOL
I went back to the Note 5 within hours of firing up the ICON. Wanted to do some more testing.
I do have to come back to the "ain't about the apps" argument. Random thoughts on apps and functions:
Facebook Messenger has pretty neat notifications with the circle of the person. You can either click on them to respond or drag to bottom to close. Very neat.
We are more than likely going to sign a contract at work on Toshiba Copiers with a DocuWare solution and I really am going to need the apps.
The Aforementioned Spiceworks app. So convenient.
School - ClassDojo and EZSchool Pay apps are very nice.
I can easily follow and manage my Yahoo! Fantasy Football now!
The YouVersion App is so much more realized (like many Windows Phone apps, they are one and done and abandoned.)
Other Positives:
This Note 5 is a beast in performance.
SideSync is pretty nice. Reminds me of a similar app I had back in the Windows Mobile 6.5 days.
The Camera is fantastic. Never thought something could beat my ICON.
MangoLassi website renders and works great. :bowtie:
Quirks:
Android Still seems Messy to Me.
Groove Music is hit and miss and the aforementioned UNKNOWN Artist and Album Information.
Do I dare say having more apps and notifications = more distractions, even if I tune down a lot of notifications.
For all of its advantages, it is so hard to leave the ICON behind but is now kind of hard to go back to it. Seems slower (with latest Windows 10 Mobile Insider) and left behind.
Any Spiceheads out there using the Spiceworks app? If so, do you keep it more secure by only accessing it via VPN or do you follow this below?
http://community.spiceworks.com/help/Access_Spiceworks_With_Mobile_App
I'd love the convenience of not having to go through 2-3 steps to connect to VPN to use it but also worry about security.
Thanks...
Brian
We are about to allow a consultant VPN assess and use a remote desktop on a PC I've set up for him. I'd like to provide some added security to this setup by having them sign a form for access to our network and with standard non-disclosure and network policies and the like. Anyone have a link to a good template for such a form? Thanks...

Band 2, eh? I was thinking about getting one.
you can't really read it at a glance without turning your head? I was wondering about that.
Band 2 is perhaps the more well rounded "smart watches". It has a built in GPS and Microsoft Health is a great app, especially for sleep monitoring. It is notification crazy, especially on Android where it gives you notifications on everything and you have to fine tune it. It is very functional as a notification device and a great fitness band. It doesn't tell you you get off your rear and walk.
If you wear it with screen under wrist, it is much easier to read but may be more awkward and could scratch more (though it has a much better scratch resistant screen now).
I've been looking for something more "build for Android" since I've converted from Windows Phone. Don't get me wrong though...Band 2 works great on Android and iOS.
I'd like to get an opinion on Android Wear before I settle on one.
