RE: Fitness and Weightloss
Today is day two of quitting nicotine, and starting back on keto with IF simultaneously, FML.
I did keto from Jan 2018 - Mar 2019, then took a 6 month break to see what it was like to eat complete shit again. I actually didn't gain anything back, but it's probably because of the IF.
I've never actually been overweight (6' 2" - 200lbs, I just do keto to cut up a bit and to curb my GERD. It works the fastest of anything I've tried and it's sustainable long term. My blood work was perfect after over a year of keto with less than 20g of complex carbs daily. Plus I was able to cut like 15lbs fat without ever going to the gym. That was nice.
Been able to control my nicotine cravings by drinking bubbly sparkling water all day. I also want to punch someone, and am having problems giving a damn about many things, but ultimately I enjoy the challenge.
So that's my day...

RE: Disabling Microsoft Edge?
@manxam Yea I'm probably going to give them basic Office suite and some browsers as well. No thanks on the sample xml. I'll be making one shortly anyhow. Much appreciated though!

RE: Disabling Microsoft Edge?
@Dashrender seriously considering making a configuration template for the taskbar though. It may be a bit controlling, but it may pay off when i have to do quick things over the phone that I wouldn’t necessarily need to remote into for. Continuity if you will...

RE: Disabling Microsoft Edge?
@Dashrender I shall Group Policy a Desktop shortcut.

RE: Disabling Microsoft Edge?
If anyone is wondering I made a batch file with:
RENAME C:\Windows\SystemApps\Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwe Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwe_remove
and it worked like a charm.
Of note: if you're just trying to run it, you'll need to run as admin or it'll prompt you that you aren't good enough as a person. Running it as a logon script works though. (i.e. gpupdate /force, re-log.)

RE: Disabling Microsoft Edge?
@wrx7m We actually have to because we have government computers that won't allow you to plug in USB's .

RE: Disabling Microsoft Edge?
@batman said in Disabling Microsoft Edge?:
" It sounds like you're trying to solve a managerial/training problem with a technical solution."
Most of our users are over 45 and don't know what a Windows key is or where to find it on their keyboard or where to type a url. Some don't even know where to put the CD at, or they put them in upside down. I honestly thought this was the standard.

RE: Disabling Microsoft Edge?
@wirestyle22 Hey that sounds like it would work. I'm gonna give it a try now.

Disabling Microsoft Edge?
Anyone out there figured out a good way to completely disable running Edge? Server Side?
A lot my calls since I've upgraded all staff to Windows 10 are people who are like "The internet site is not working, it says I need to download Java" . 100% of the time it's because they aren't using Internet Explorer and are instead using Edge because they look the same to the laymen.
I've decided to just disable it altogether with a simple GPO. But as you might have guessed if you've already been down this road, it's not going as planned. In short, it doesn't work at all.
I've already set Default Apps by exporting from a sample machine and saving as config for GPO, but if the damn thing is in their Taskbar, they want to click it. It's looking like I'm going to have to export a taskbar config, but I'm reading that takes away the ability for the end user to change later. I dunno.

RE: Funky Exchange OWA Issue
I figured it out. In IIS>Default Web Site>SSL Settings>Client certificates was checked to Require. I moved it to ignore, and viola.
-
RE: Funky Exchange OWA Issue
@JasGot Yes. It populates even when I don't log into ecp. Just visiting /ecp seems to make /owa work.
-
RE: Funky Exchange OWA Issue
@pirho99 Thanks. I’m not able to get as far as logging in, but I’ll still give this a read and check my current CU version.

Funky Exchange OWA Issue
So we have two exchange servers set up now, the newest being Exchange 2016.
I did my best to mimic all of the DNS entries of the previously configured Exchange 2013 server, but when I go to Exchange2016serv.contoso.com/owa to access the web app, it’s a white screen.
Here’s the funky part: when you instead type in Exchang2016serv.contoso.com/ecp, you get the ecp like you are supposed to, but If you THEN change it to /owa, it works!
Of note: there seems to be a longer than usual redirect url at this point though.I check IIS>Bindings to double check certs for default and exchange backend, but everything looks fine. I feel like this is DNS issue, but haven’t been able to pinpoint exactly what. Any ideas?

RE: Exchange 2013 Receive connector for Scan 2 Email
@jt1001001 currently using a single NIC, but I think I got it. I’ll know tomorrow when I’m at work and can physically work with the xerox machines. Appreciate the reply.

RE: Exchange 2013 Receive connector for Scan 2 Email
Eh, I figured it out.
Had to select FrontEnd Transport, and leave the all available IP instead of changing it to the EXCHANGESERV NIC.

Exchange 2013 Receive connector for Scan 2 Email
Trying to setup scan to email on some new xerox machines we got.
Got everything working right, but it won't send to outside email addresses such as gmail.
Did a little research and found that I need to setup a new receive connector to allow this.
So I try making one with like so:
- Name: Scan2email
- Server: EXCHANGESERV.contoso.com
- Role: Hub Transport
- Type: Custom
- Network Adapter Bindings: IP of EXCHANGESERV NIC
- Port: 25
- Remote Network Settings: IP of Xerox Machine on network
I get the error message:
"The Values that you specified for the Bindings and RemoteIPRanges parameters conflict with the settings on Receive connector "EXCHANGESERV\Default Frontend EXCHANGESERV". Receive connectors assigned to different Transport roles on a single server must listen on unique local IP address & port bindings."So is it saying that I need to use a different port for each connector?
The "Default Frontend EXCHANGESERV" receive connector is inclusive of all IP ranges, as it was set that way from the guy we paid to do it. I'm wondering how to move forward.

RE: User's PC is unstable
Given that the problem exists over a span of time with multiple machines I'd have a look at whatever she's been plugging into each of these machines. Thumb-drives, externals, etc. Forgive me if this has already been mentioned, skimmed over the thread a bit and didn't see it.
I also agree that moving rooms might be a good option, or at least running power from another one.
Did you check her work laptop out? Maybe she's passing files back and forth via RDP...
Anyway, sounds crazy, hope you get it figured out. Please let us know as I'm super interested.
