Remoteapp issue Windows 10 workspace.
I've got 2 computers that will not download the remoteapp Work Resources. However, I'm able to access the resources via Web Browser and run the application through there and download the rdp shortcut. I searched online and it suggested to :
-
In the registry editor, delete the contents of "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\workspaces\Feeds".
-
On the hard drive, delete the contents of "%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Workspaces".
-
Attempt to recreate the connection
Issue still not resolved. No sure what it is, because authentication works fine, networking is good, and name resolution as well. Any help would be appreciated.

Something on my to do list. I'm the same text files and images saved all over the place. Need to collect them all up into one system and easier to access and find
This is where DokuWiki is perfect. Needs a web server and PHP, but nothing else.
Is there a particular web host service you recommend? Go daddy?

Software used for documentation recommendations?
I currently have a lot of my notes from issues I've come across and fixed saved in notepad, which is organized with different folders. Ex: Folder c:\notes\Networks\routers\watchguard\sslvpn.txt. What is a better solution where I could so a search and find what I need? Ex: search ssl vpn and find that documentation. I've been looking into One Note, but want to see what else is out there.

Skills is current a series of lists and single items, I'm not sure of the meaningfulness of the commas and periods within that section. Maybe break that out into a double wide bulleted list or something. Make those big items easier to read and find.
Something like this?

How about the responsibilities? Do you see anything I should modify/change? -

I'd remove "enterprise" and reduce this to a single line. The company you are with tells us that it is enterprise, putting it here kind of implies that they have different staff of "small, medium and enterprise" inside the company which is... odd
If this didn't go to a second line because of it, I'd not really care. But it is a weird word to have in a role description.
Done!

RE: Any recommendations for new backup solution? Client wants to take backup copies offsite.
@scottalanmiller said in Any recommendations for new backup solution? Client wants to take backup copies offsite.:
t’s not part of the equation. The backup system records the files. The type of storage you use doesn’t interact with the backup and corrupt it.
I think the concern was the copy button from the NAS that would create a second copy of the data from the NAS to the usb HDD. And the ability to restore data from the offsite usb HDD, if needed.

@fredtx - Are the tapes meant for long term archiving or just to take a copy offsite?
Some NAS models like Synology and Qnap have a copy button feature on the front for syncing data to a usb drive. Maybe they could use Veeam Endpoint for the initial backup to the NAS and then the copy button for a second copy to take offsite on the usb drive
Actually, one of my colleagues mentioned that today. We are looking at implementing a Qnap, but are unsure how well it would copy over the security permissions from the servers to the Qnap.

@scottalanmiller said in Any recommendations for new backup solution? Client wants to take backup copies offsite.:
Another common option is adding a cache layer. D2D2T. Add a NAS between the servers and the tape. Then you can backup quickly to a local spot, then backup to tape from there and you don't care how long that takes. Then they can take the tape offsite same as always.
Is there a particular application you recommend that would perform this task?

then, what kind of topology do you have? are you backing up clients or is this a database?!
which price range? you are talking about NASes. If you mean those "cheap" appliances I think you can think about a cloud solution like ...Only their Database. This is a business in the Dental industry so most data is documents, xray images, sql database, etc. I believe cloud backup has been mentioned to customer, but they are considering the cost. I will check on the retention settings.

Any recommendations for new backup solution? Client wants to take backup copies offsite.
I've got a client who has about 1.2TB of data and is currently using Backup Exec as their backup solution. They run full backups every night and take each backup tape (yes tapes!) offsite once backup is complete. It's time to change their backup solution since the business has grown and it now takes like 21 hours to run their backup. I was thinking of some sort of NAS, but they still want to take their backups offsite like they do with their tapes. Any suggestions?
