@MattSpeller She's the one asking for the gym 😄 I told you, I'm fat.

      @scottalanmiller 😄

      rofl I get it now

      Basically, I'm the worst.

Don't forget that vigorous sex is also exercise.... and I'm pretty sure that I out-fat you. I'm old too. So suck it up, youngster! 😉

      I out fat you both.

I don't know if you out-fat me, but I know you out-bald me!

      shots fired

If you saw my long, flowing locks in person, you'd understand....

I have met you now... and I'm glad the ladies like those long flowing locks. To me it just looks like to much hair to wash all the time.

It's worth the effort (and expense) because without hair, I just have a big pumpkin head. Ladies don't be diggin' the giant Charlie Brown head.

Don't let my current profile picture fool you. I need to update it. Got a decent Ponytail going on myself lol.

    • RE: VoIP One-way Audio and Voice drops

@coliver it is relatively easy to set STUN up on a phone at least and test that part.

On a side note, what is your PBX running in? I once tried running in Hyper-V and ran into a slew of problems with load and the NIC drivers.

I have Centurylink at home. I can do a quick check from there when I get home. Maybe unrelated, but I was having some severe issues with DNS a couple weeks back at home.

I'll post more info on my findings tonight.

We use Juniper, Cisco, and Alcatel switches. I'm getting pretty decent and warming up to the Juniper switches. We are an ISP.

    • Scripting changing VLANs on Managed Switches through SSH

I'm looking to script changing a port's vlan on a managed switch through SSH. We have over 500 switches and these VLANs change. A lot. Basically I'm expecting to have to put together tables of these switches, what brand they are, what VLANs they use, and what to do. What scripting language would you guys recommend? I need something that can read information from external tables and run some commands through SSH, put simply.

    • RE: Ways to describe location bandwidth requirements

I work for an ISP currently and that is one of the main things we have to do to diagnose connection issues. When explained properly it's not usually that hard to talk someone through a speed test. Speedtest.net, hit the "Begin Test" button, and read me back the results. This is probably going to still be the best option for you. If your client is willing to fill out a questionnaire for you, they should be decently willing enough to run a speed test.

    • RE: Ways to describe location bandwidth requirements

Well, I would see it as you have two ways you can go about it, depending on your reasoning for finding out this information.

"How fast is your internet?" coupled with "Do you find yourself waiting for pages to load or items to download more than you'd like?" may be a good starting point without getting into detail. It will at least tell you their level of satisfaction with their current speeds.

      Or

"What internet speed does your company pay for?"

This should at the very least prompt them to ask the right people. If they were tasked with taking interest in your services, they should be at least partially invested in getting you the information you need.

      Here are the power requirements

      WV-SFR311 DC power supply: 12 V DC/340 mA/Approx. 4.1 W PoE Device: 48 V DC/130 mA/Approx. 6.2 W* (Class 2 device) WV-SFR310 DC power supply: 12 V DC/310 mA/Approx. 3.7 W PoE Device: 48 V DC/120 mA/Approx. 5.8 W* (Class 2 device) * ONLY CONNECT 12 V DC CLASS 2 POWER SUPPLY.

      "PoE Device: 48 V DC/130 mA/Approx. 6.2 W* (Class 2 device)"

This is what you want to look for. With POE transmitters, shouldn't be too hard to find.

I spent the holidays with my brother, his girlfriend and my fiance`. My brother (Josh) lives in Brooklyn and has become essentially a judgmental vegan smoker which I've experienced a lot of any time I go visit him--people who do hard drugs but won't eat bread. While we were at my Grandma's I told her to turn on some music I thought she'd like and she did in fact enjoy it. Now Josh and his girlfriend unleash their inner Brooklyn and just destroy this music that everyone was enjoying. I was triggered by this situation which came to fruition apparently today.

Is it just me or did everyone forget that they like liking things? I have heard nothing but judgment about music, movies, TV shows, hobbies etc for so long it's almost normal to me now but it shouldn't be. In my opinion people who behave this way are attempting to be special or out of the ordinary and in reality they are exactly like everyone else around them. If you really want to standout nowadays you'll shop at the gap and listen to Dave Matthews Band.

It kind of reminds me of high school. I was friends with pretty much everyone but the coolest kids to me were the outcasts. I didn't realize until later that the reason I thought that was because they didn't give a shit about what the other kids thought and they were just being whoever it was that they were at the time. This is part of the reason I feel like I can't relate to people anymore because everyone my age acts like a complete idiot.

Can anyone relate to this or is it just me?

      Ugh... hipsters.

It's not even just hipsters though it's people who have adopted their judgmental mindset too. Seems like everyone my age in NJ is like this practically. I can't stand it.

You're right. Getting into a sort of recursive logic, I've had this conversation quite a few times, what seems to have happened is that people were so constantly and consistently told it was cool to be different, that they took this as "Don't like something that someone else does" and it shows in their criticism. So they try to anti-conform to things, and what makes it funny is that this is now the standard thing to conform to- anti-conformity.

Basically they defeated their purpose by making that their purpose. But, this is just my theory based on my experience with it.
