@momurda said in Harassment Emails ?:

@jaredbusch I dont get your derision? Are you saying adding an email address to a block list doesnt work? Youre wrong.

I never said it could not work. But the cost to do something like this is nothing but a waste of money. This is nothing but basic logic.

There is no point in playing whack-a-mole with a malicious sender. You block, they make a new one. Rinse and repeat. This is is doing nothing but costing your company money.

Your user has 100% of the tools they need to block any email within their email client. Train them to right click and junk/block and move on.

If you want to do something legally, then you contact HR and have them contact the police per what ever company policy you have about harassment. If the user wants to press formal charges, the police have every tool they need to subpoena Google for information on the account. Additionally Google will 100% support this process.

@Jimmy9008 Is this better? I spelled out the basics that any IT professional should already know.

I liked the idea of training users and removing this from IT, as it will waste time and he will keep creating new email account.

Yup your right, and we had to install VIrt-Manager on Linux GUI OS just to tick this option cause it is easier, cockpit-machines needs to have more advanced options.

    • RE: Nested hypervisors?

      @wirestyle22 @StorageNinja

Who is a better EMR vendor than EPIC? They are kinda the gold standard and the #2 (Cerner) isn't going to support it either.

Even if we get into the smaller players (Care4, AllScripts) that are not supported either. That's also ignoring that the DB vendors in these cases (Cache, Oracle, etc) are going to not support it.

Try telling a chief medical officer, or head a practice "Hey... so we are going to go with this no-name vendor for the application you spend 90% of your time in, because they would support Hyper-V on KVM on ESXi!"

What vendor and what nesting have you seen supported?

ThoughtWorks uses Centos 6.7 for there Bahmin EMR and it is the recommended without updates, also as vendor they dont want the complexity of Virtualization so they love to deploy real iron

      https://bahmni.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/BAH/pages/33128505/Install+Bahmni+on+CentOS

      0_1535100293376_maxresdefault.jpg

Future plans to fix this is docker, and containers which I get but performance will suffer, currently they use centos + ansible + scheduled remote sessions which works great we just need the base updated (for the last 2 years this is still feature request), Centos latest is already behind.

And dont get me started on the cost, cost has nothing to do it, it is always decisions made without IT people and after the decision is made, IT people raise concerns and they get cock blocked and treated like they are harming the project.

Point = TW are way over rated, dont ever consider them.

      @G-I-Jones

well, you upgraded late, so most weird stuff got fixed. That said you dont have choice anymore, its not like you can
install Windows 7 on ryzen or latest intel CPU due to rare circumstance of chipset incompatibility according to MS that we have to take very seriously, something about USB drivers not being able to work on Windows 7 and MS wont provide the drivers for Win 7, cause it is very bad and outdated system, and you need to jump on Windows 10.

      https://www.zdnet.com/article/mystery-still-surrounds-hack-of-php-pear-website/
IT seems if you installed from default repos, your safe, but using site version your not
PEAR developers promised a more detailed incident post-mortem when this operation concludes.

In the meantime, earlier today, the PHP PEAR team also released PEAR v1.10.10, a new PEAR release, which is identical with the previous release v1.10.9, but which the PHP PEAR team uploaded on GitHub to give it a new timestamp and signal that it's a clean version that webmasters can install without fear of downloading a potentially backdoored release

UPDATE, January 23: In a series of tweets following the publication of this article, the PEAR team has published more details about its recent security breach. The tweets are embedded below:

In addition, the team at DCSO has also analyzed the malicious backdoor, and confirmed the findings of the PEAR team that it drops a reverse shell on infected hosts, allowing attackers to connect to web servers running a tainted PEAR package.

50 KVM hosts with no centralized management already planned

I think it is valid question, maybe 50 is too much but the idea is to backup the connection list, so you can quickly set it up if your virt manager software got corrupted and you dont want it to be VM.

Okay no one has 50 hosts, but maybe 10 or more or so. who cares it, I label it valid .Court Adjourned

    • LXD/LXC Beginners Video Guide

Yes, it is very long . Yes, I had edibles today (i can only do it one day at the end of the weekend days and this project will be deleted so I want to make a video before it gets deleted).

At the end my video recording system stopped, FYI the node got rebooted and the container started auto and drupal was working again.

      https://drive.google.com/file/d/12VWPuudoRo4rz2_Q4to2anjOYyT2bH5F/view?usp=sharing

If you never heard of LXD/LXC watching this long video will give you 80-90% of what it is.

      FYI:

At the moment the cluster tries to always keep 3 database nodes. If you have 4 nodes, you will have 3 database nodes. If you remove one database node out of those 4, the cluster will notice that there are only 2 database nodes left and promote the non-database node to be a database node.

why waste all resources on single OS ? what if a program runs better on specific OS what will you do then ? Also if virus infects single OS your screwed

So by Virtualizing you're spreading out the resources to different OS's ?
i understand the program needing specifics or running better you'd want to have a way to get there,
what does virus protection have to do with single os?

      I learned this recently πŸ˜•

      apparently there is this command

       nohup command-with-options &

Nohup is very helpful when you have to execute a shell-script or command that take a long time to finish. In that case, you don’t want to be connected to the shell and waiting for the command to complete. Instead, execute it with nohup, exit the shell and continue with your other work. Cause it is true I recall I did the background & and it was not reliable I reckon it would exit with your session.
