yum-cron and dnf-automatic do not use postfix or any other MTA. They simply open and send with a direct SMTP connection by default.

The purpose of the "ECHO" is to prevent the other party from hearing himself (echo). If a user is using headsets, then there is no need for AEC since there will be no echo generated on his side. In this case it might be better to disable "ECHO" to avoid unnecessary audio filtering and also to save CPU. A user that is using hands-free mode, MUST have "ECHO" enabled to prevent all other participants from hearing themselves. If ""ECHO" is enabled but still echo could be, it means that the acoustic echo cancellation software that is running is not robust enough to handle the echo. Following is a nice blog series on the principles and challenges of acoustic echo cancellation.

@jaredbusch The model config file also has this option.

So I "should" be able to use the "all" setting and have this work there as well, yet it doesn't seem to.

So this has been changed in their newest release 2.0.0.25 (not sure if it's publically available), and while the credentials are no longer in plain-text there are a few things you lose the ability to do.

Namely to tell if any given used is logged into a device, and secondly to sign in/out as a user on any given device.

I've provided my feedback to Yealink and hope to hear back soon. Neither of the above 2 issues are deal breakers, as the bigger goal is to be able to set configuration options, screensavers, time servers etc and have the user deal with the login.

Especially since the "Web Sign in" functionality is so simple, there is little reason to need the ability to sign in for a user.

They can take a snapshot and replicate it somewhere else. That isn't really revolutionary in and of itself (EMC had storage arrays that could do this in the 90's). One challenge to this is what are you recovering?

Not revolutionary at all. I think the key there is that agentless backups are not revolutionary. They are a tried and true solution on top of which some vendors like Veeam have added some amazing features. But those features are product features, not intrinsic artefacts of agentless approaches.

Veeam is amazing, in both their agentless and agent-based products. But neither agentless nor agent-based is amazing as a concept.

I could see something like a wireless VGA / HDMI transmitter and receiver set up. That way, at least any device with a VGA or HDMI connection could wire in and present with few issues.

Tried a few of those (good ones) in some conference rooms. They are great on paper, but works poorly in practice. We boxed ours up and moved on.

@phlipelder I thought that those files were necessary. I guess I will try to block them as long as it doesn't cause issues on the Mac side.

I don't know if they are critical or not. From what I see online files like .DS_Store is just to show metadata to the mac client. This is likely the tag color etc for the Mac Finder, which for me (personally) doesn't matter. But I'm sure it would affect business pretty heavily.

Thanks for the fast reply, the issue is the color setting were set to low by default. Setting it to 16 bit corrected the issue.

So the crash was connecting, not the profile creation?

      Correct.
