What did Autodesk support say? I believe that they have access to support with their license level. You should definitely check with the software vendor, as they are more likely to have seen similar issues than Dell support.

My new laptop has arrived!
And I'm posting this from it! My thoughts so far: the touch screen is pretty handy for accessing Win 8 Start menu options, instead of moving the mouse around. I think that a lot of things are going to be easier with a touch screen, some things not. I love its teeny size for working from the couch, which I normally do during the day while homeschooling our girls. It's going to take a little while to get used to the compact keyboard, but that's to be expected with a laptop of this size.
As a reminder, here's the laptop Scott bought me:

Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Cookies
These were a huge success:

Even the almost 15-year-old said that they are delicious and she couldn't tell there was anything different about them. I am a HUGE fan of almond flour now.

RE: LOL of the day
So funny. If I was allowed to use fire, I might have tried this, but since I'm banned from using lighters and accelerants, our house is safe.

RE: LOL of the day
Way back before Scott and I were married, the power went out in our HUGE house. I've never been a fan of the dark, so I always get a little panicky when the power fails at night. We only had one lighter, and Scott wouldn't let me have it, so I lit a piece of paper, and ran around our room and bathroom lighting candles, while the paper burned away and dropped ashes to the floor. From that point on, Scott decided that I'm not proactively safe with fire.

RE: Are They Getting Sillier?
It might be silly, but that ram pic made me giggle. It would be nice if they didn't go into the actually offensive realm, however.

Social Media accounts - separate! My gosh, my eyeballs might fall right out of my head from how hard I roll them when I see combined accounts. We all know those people have trust issues, and if you're considering it because you don't trust the other person not to have shady communications, or innocent communications that you decide are shady, then there's a bigger issue. Maybe couples therapy would help. (Not directed specifically at you, but "you" in the broader sense of "lots of people")

Apple ID's - we use one to save money on apps that we all use across multiple devices. As long as you fix the settings so that you're not automatically downloading everything and sharing every phone number, etc., it's great.

Online shopping - we share an Amazon Prime account because it would be silly not to. That's really the only site from which we both make purchases, so we don't share accounts on say Oldnavy.com, but then again, it's not like Scott ever orders his own clothes or anything, and if he did, we'd probably just share it.
ETA: bank accounts - we had separate accounts at the same bank, so we just added the other to our accounts. Now we mainly use Scott's for everything, and if we have a specific designation for funds, we might move them to my account. It's just easier this way. I really like @Nic's idea of designating subaccounts for spontaneous expenses. Good idea.

RE: My vote for most adorable mascot... Loggly's hipster beaver!
And, because I always like to weigh in on t-shirt swag in terms of wearability, not just design, I'd like to say for the record that this isn't just a cute shirt, it is soft and comfy, and it's going into my short pile of shirts I can't wait to wear as soon as they come out of the laundry.

@tonyshowoff @Carnival-Boy Well gee, boys, stellar reasons for us to stop homeschooling and get the girls into public school, lmao.

Indonesian volcano erupts blue lava
I saw this go by on my Facebook Feed from IFL Science. A volcano in Indonesia appears to be erupting blue lava, because the lava is flowing over sulfur deposits.
This creates a gorgeous but eerie blue color, as when sulfur burns at 600 degrees C, it produces blue flames.
http://i.imgur.com/5lfgq2V.jpgBurning sulfur is murder on the respiratory system, so hopefully this chick is wearing a gas mask.

Best approach for country VPN for multiple devices
We travel full time, and we have a lot of devices. iPads, laptops, soon to be Kindle Fires, and we would like to be able to use the things that we already pay for, like Netflix and Amazon Prime, on these devices while traveling. Netflix works in most countries, but has a different selection depending on where you are. Amazon Prime only works in the USA. We are considering getting a Fire TV gaming console too, if we can figure this issue out. Does anyone have an idea for a solution? I use Hola on my laptop (paid version) but it is cumbersome on iPads and I not available for the FireTV. I also don't think it works that well and causes lag a lot of the time.

RE: What Are You Doing Right Now
@nadnerB Well, if I play as the physician I get to drain Sims with leaches and then force medicine down their throats using a funnel, all while they lay on a rack-like device. It's a bit dark.
