    @ChrisL

Chris is a social media/writer guy living in Los Angeles. His interests include long walks on the beach and not being able to write a proper, professional bio.

In the summer of '86, Chris' family harbored a fugitive Sasquatch for a week. His experiences became the inspiration for the movie "Harry and the Hendersons". In 1995, Chris became the Tri-State Karate Grand Champion in the 10-12 year old age group. You decided which one of those is true.

    • Goodbye!

Just wanted to say goodbye, because as of Friday I'll no longer be with Colocation America.

Got a new job as a social analyst for an entertainment creative agency here in LA--the company did the social for Spiderman: Homecoming, BoJack Horseman Season 3, Death Note, and more.

Just wanted to say it was great getting to interact and be goofy with you all on here and at MangoCon--you guys and gals were always a blast to chat with.

I retire as the REIGNING AND DEFENDING Definitely-Not-Jenga-Please-Stop-Calling-Our-Lawyers Champion (NOBODY DENIES THIS DON'T LISTEN TO DETRACTORS)

    • RE: iOS 11 annoyances

That Files app is a godsend. Drag and drop is amazing, but wish it was more functional with 3rd party apps. For instance, GMail has it, but every time i’ve tried to drag/drop, the green + will pop up but the file won’t attach.

So I finally got to play with this on my iPad Pro. I LOVE THIS!!! Multi tasking is a whole lot better than it was. The customizable dock is awesome. The new files app is VERY awesome I have my iCloud, dropbox, google drive and OneDrive all in one place without opening the stupid individual clunky app for each of them. There's also some more stuff for the apple pencil and it works better than it did before. I am really happy with this upgrade.

I’m super happy with it so far. Loving the new dock on the iPad. It’ll be a lot better once I upgrade my iPad and can get the full multi-tasking experience (I can only overlay a second app on my mini 2)

    • Disaster Recovery and You

Hey, so being in the data center industry we often get a lot of clients asking about their disaster recovery protocols and how they should approach it, so we decided to do a little two parter on identifying the problems and mission critical systems in your business, as well as common failures and predictable recovery and how it will affect your company.

      Part one

      Part two

Tl;dr: put your stuff in a data center because you can't handle it. 🙂

@minion-queen I think the biggest benefit is that my bag got a lot lighter 🙂

@scottalanmiller Trying to keep work separate from personal as much as possible and don't want that tied to my account. About to reconfigure work email as IMAP to make it easier to use the Outlook app.

@scottalanmiller True. I was able to write an article for our blog entirely on the iPad yesterday, containing multiple links, etc. Wasn't too bad to deal with.

Spreadsheets are a different story, however.

Mileage may vary based on type of work, obviously, but it's been a smooth transition for me so far.

@wrx7m i still have my fully functional W10 laptop at home, it just doesn't come into the office anymore with me. No files in storage, everything via cloud.

Just need to figure out how to set up Outlook to access my work email and we'd be all set. I don't believe the iOS Outlook app allows for POP, but there has to be a workaround.

@nerdydad yeah the apps being self-contained kinda limit the necessity of a mouse. I thought that'd be a limiting factor, but it hasn't been an issue thus far.

Keyboard shortcuts really help, I can switch apps via Cmd + tab, and most apps display any available shortcuts if you hold down Cmd within the app.

@scottalanmiller yeah the screen is a tad small, that's why the upgrade to the 9.7" will be better.
