It seems to me that the EU will have an opinion to share about this and I do not think it will mesh with the judges...
IRJ You are spot on with that statement, they remind me of dogs rolling in disgustingness except they are rolling in new technology and interconnectedness.

RE: New Webroot user
I must concur, the Webroot Anywhere is great. Nic helped me too and I am so happy with it that I think the wife is going to switch over too. It's smooth and fast and so far, totally unobtrusive!
Thanks Webroot and Nic! -
When will they learn?
Detroit is not a particularly safe city anymore... for those who make it unsafe.

RE: The worst. job. EVER.
Worst job ever, I don't know but I had a weird one. I worked at a pet cemetery.
When we had burials I had to dig the graves and load the body in the casket and prep it for the owner to have a last good-bye.
We were contracted to pick up pets from ALL of the county animal shelters and vet practices in the lower half (of the lower half) of the state. This meant that after school everyday I had to move two full size capped bed pick-ups FULL of dead animals into the crematories. They burned 10K pounds at a time. Then after word I had to shovel out the dust remains and throw them away. Private cremations we arranged the deceased body at the front then carefully put the ashes in a machine that really pulverized them to dust and placed them in a nice box afterword.
You wouldn't believe the money some people will lay out to take care of their pets when they are dead.
Weirdest experience: I was digging a grave for a couple who's dog had passed. They were from the city of Detroit. As the owner was walking the female (pet owner) around the very nice cemetery and talking to her, the gentleman (probably in his 70's) was hanging around by me. I noticed that he was slack jawed staring at the tall pines surrounding the cemetery. I asked him something to the effect of Sir, are you ok? and he said "I've never seen woods before, I spent my entire life in the city"
I was flabbergasted. -
RE: What Are You Currently Reading Outside of Tech
I keep "The Virus Hunter" on my phone for emergency reading needs. I will be buying a couple of Richard Preston's books this weekend but I need to rediscover a few good books about viruses I got for Christmas.
Other than that lately I've just read some dog training books and my subscription to Musclecar Review. Professionally I'm reading CWTS Official Study Guide. -
RE: My side work
Nice work, I like a number of your pieces, in particular the Camaro shot over the front corner.

RE: Energy of Choice?
Wasn't there a Bob Marley song about this?
I drink two cups in the morning,
I drink two cups at night.
I drink two cups in the afternoon,
It makes me feel alright.I drink two cups,
In time of Peace,
and two in time of War.I drink two cups before I drink two cups,
and then I drink two more... -

I really really need to work on this. My daughters have way too easy of a time keeping a secret right in front of me with their mom.
Are you practicing stealthily so they won't realize the code is broken?

He wasn't CEO when he donated the money.Does that matter? He chose to impact his career and the board opted to allow it to have happened.
Just like things you say online or tattoos you are making a permanent decision when you do these things. Honestly it makes him an idiot and a bad candidate for CEO - it shows a horrible understanding of actions and consequences. Not a failing one wants in a leader.
Only in that he didn't do it as CEO -

@Bill-Kindle
It's hypocritical to be against equality personally and work for an organization that promotes it. People will look at the situation and say "How long until he changes the organization in a way that pulls it away from where it is and toward those views that are in opposition to the companies history and stated ambitions". This isn't good for business. -

No it does not make them Mozillas. Mozilla is a business, it does not have any religion. No matter what. -
RE: What is Your Favourite Movie?
I totally forgot one! Probably the best, most surprising movie I've ever seen. Wait for it.
My wife speaks both German and a bit of Italian and this movie made her laugh and cry at the same time. I mean, one scene laughing and crying.
This was a super powerful movie.Guido: [pretending to translate] The game starts now. You have to score one thousand points. If you do that, you take home a tank with a big gun. Each day we will announce the scores from that loudspeaker. The one who has the fewest points will have to wear a sign that says "Jackass" on his back. There are three ways to lose points. One, turning into a big crybaby. Two, telling us you want to see your mommy. Three, saying you're hungry and want something to eat.
You may remember when the Oscar was awarded as the writer director climbed the chair backs to the stage.

Toner scam nipped by end user!
One of the CSRs in our call center just had the perfect interaction with a toner scammer. It was a classic, they called saying "We spoke with Chad about your toner order but we need to confirm the model" to which he replied "He's not here right now, if you leave me your name and number I'll have him call you back" they persisted saying "Well I just need to know the printer..." and he cut them off "If you leave me your name..." when they tried again he was nice a third time same message and then he hung up and immediately told me which prompted a company wide email detailing the scams nature with a link to page about this on snopes.com.
I know they are rare, but when you find a good one you gotta give them props! -
