Some industries require them due to law; ie financial firms you need to put in some sort of disclaimer at the bottom of every email. Gets quite annoying when reading a long email chain, with ten nested disclaimers.

But not this kind of disclaimer. There is no law that says you have to include a false disclaimer.

We do this for HP. We work with Softmart and can get most things in a few hours when needed, next day is very doable.

I assume that there is only one partition. You can check yours but there should not be multiple partitions.

This is how XS7 sets it up, at least...

I was asking for a general case (for more information) but in the specific case that got me thinking about this, all the users in the traveling family have iPhones.

I think they can turn on the Wifi Calling and be set. I just want to confirm texting is free as well. But it should be. (As long as it is to US numbers.)

Of course, as @scottalanmiller reminded me, it doesn't help in the case of an emergency (or if there isn't Wifi), but it's certainly a pretty cool feature to finally come to AT&T.

      I did. It's on here somewhere 🙂

I prefer Graylog in most cases, though. It's come a long way.

The SSLS.COM site the @aaronstuder sent me to worked great as well.

And $5 a year as opposed to $12.

Also great support from their end as I messed something up during registration.

@Dashrender said in Security Of Cloud Shared Links:

The entry itself can't output it self.. you have to use DNS to get the list, just like HTTP can't generate a list of items in a specified folder, the Web Server has to product a file (probably on the fly) for HTTP to deliver.

Again, this really isn't getting us anywhere - it's just weird.

The entry can't, but the entry itself is a link. What many DNS servers do is automatically produce all output for a domain as links. So you query them and you get a list of the links. This is how CloudFlare, for example, polls another DNS server to automate DNS movement.

And of course you can have an MSP

Well yeah. I don't see why you're conflating on-premise Exchange with having an internal IT department. I'm guessing NTG has supported on-premise Exchange for clients for years?

Sure. And I think that we are decent at it. But I'll be the first to admit that we can't do it as well as Microsoft can themselves. Do we try to? Sure. But realistically, we just can't. We can do a good job, but they have resources and scale and access to things that we cannot have.

We do, as an MS partner, have access to MS support directly and in ways that normal customers do not. That helps bridge that gap, but MS is always part of the bigger equation.

If you found a solution though that's great.

It made it the same size, and in about 1/100th of the time. 🙂

It's more likely you won't have to transcode with mp4 as well which is great.

This whole thing stemmed from my comment that even though the drives are already paid for, they should still be included the actual cost column of the project.

But for discussion with management, they could be left off.

Only in a post mortem sort of way, not for a planning sort of way. Their cost isn't useful information for any purpose that I can think of except determining if the decision to buy them in the first place was a good one.

What's the latest on this project?

Well, I still do not have production servers on it yet. (I was waiting for XS7 to come out.)

But I put a Splunk instance on it (as well as XO, and a few other things) and it hasn't had any issues yet. Of course it didn't with the EDGE drives until I really got things running on it, so we shall see. But nothing was writing to it like the Splunk machine is.

      But so far, so good.
