@Dashrender I agree with you 100%. Just thinking what would be the most simple for less than average users.

RE: What Are You Doing Right Now
@Dashrender That is my point. How do multiple users share folders in OneDrive for example? I realize you can send files or a folder to someone on the free tier but they would still have to create [email protected] account to retrieve the file if they were not already a MS user. Same goes with Google users.

RE: What Are You Doing Right Now
There is a group of about 5 "older" ladies wanting to share a few files and documents. One of them has OneDrive but doesn't know how to use it. One has a Gmail account but doesn't know how to use Google Drive, etc. The others have email through their ISP with no "features". I'm thinking a $5 Vultr NC instance would be simple enough for them and probably be plenty of storage. Am I overthinking this? I don't think there is a simple way to share between multiple users with OneDrive, etc. personal accounts. Seems like there would be an easier way. They need simplicity.

RE: Is Flickr circling the drain
I have the NC app on my iPhone and it has been working great at syncing my photos. I have an "iPhone upload" folder on my NC. I do need to upgrade my iCloud storage too though.

Still up working over here. Gotta drive down to Houston at some point tomorrow.
I was going to make a run to Houston yesterday but decided against it. I'm a lot closer though. Pretty good haul for you.

RE: Time to update WP to 5.3.1
Mine also auto-updated. Received the email this morning.

RE: Hypervisors: revisit your choices!
@JaredBusch Couldn't have said this better myself. I received the email from Veeam about the increase too, but all my current licenses are good through Dec 2020.
If there was a good backup solution for KVM, I would have zero Hyper-V hosts. -
RE: Voip.ms Fax To Email
@JaredBusch What I'm referring to is that I can take a physical piece of paper that I want to fax to a Xerox copier (in this instance). Instead of using the built-in fax machine function (no phone line attached) I can "email" the document to [email protected] and in the subject line is the actual fax number. When I email from the copier, it comes out as a fax to the receiver. Not as an email. The receiver has no idea that it did not come from a conventional fax machine.

RE: Voip.ms Fax To Email
@NashBrydges This is correct. You send the "fax" to an email address. The subject line of the "fax" is the fax number.
-
RE: Voip.ms Fax To Email
@NashBrydges I only log in to the portal to set up the users. They have never used or seen the portal.
-
RE: Voip.ms Fax To Email
@NashBrydges Yes, the users I am referring to use Outlook. The copiers that have email capability are able to fax as well.

RE: Voip.ms Fax To Email
I deployed it for 5 users well over a year ago. After they got used to the process, it was fine. No complaints that I am aware of.

RE: Delays on servers from Dell
I ordered a T440 direct from Dell in April 2019 and had it in 3 days. I realize that wasn't exactly recent but....

RE: What Are You Doing Right Now
Just updated 3 servers to F31. Been putting it off for a bit. 2 more to go.

Public is fine. Always good to know who downvotes the carpet cleaning ads!

RE: Updating plex on Fedora
@JaredBusch Understood. Systemd definitely looks like it has a lot more flexibility and options. I'm going to switch some cron jobs over and see how it goes.

RE: Updating plex on Fedora
What are the benefits of systemd over cron considering cron is/seems more simple?

RE: Updating plex on Fedora
Perfect timing on this. I have had Plex running on Ubuntu (virtual) and it is time for a hardware refresh. Thought about re-installing on Fedora because I normally use it for everything else. It is the only software that my wife actually cares about, and she manages the movie library. The library is on a NAS so I don't even have to worry about it.
