Is there a freeware tool that can monitor brocade switches ports? Some of my devices are dhcp on different vlans. I need to have a log or alert when any of the port/device goes down.

How to access SAN?
Hi Gurus,
We have SAN connected to our network but no one seems to know any details about it. How to access SAN? How to get its IP address? or is there other means to connect to HP SAN P2000 to gain access to its data or to the device so we can re-purpose if possible.

RE: How to backup VMWare VMs?
Just want to confirm, so up to now Vsphere has no means of backing up the VM's live? I read that i can actually copy it when its powered off. or i maybe wrong. If not then Veeam, Altaro and Unitrends are my options. I will use the cost effective and easy to deploy solution.

You didn't mention how much data you're backing up, but Unitrends is free for up to 1TB. Full product, including scheduling, only limitation is 1TB of data.
around 900 GB for the 3 critical servers.

RE: Heavy Duty Staple for UTP cable
@brianlittlejohn said in Heavy Duty Staple for UTP cable:
It is more about the staple then the gun... they make staples for cable that have a bend in them so it doesn't pinch the cable.
do you have an amazon link for curve staple? this seems much easier than carrying a hammer and nail clips.
