RE: Webroot
So we are working with Webroot on terms to become a reseller. We've been running it in house as a test. The fact that it does not impact performance when I'm using the hotspot on my phone for access from the laptop confirms that it Webroot is data efficient.
Most of our customers don't want the overhead impact of a "1 solution for everything". Having endpoint protection that is distinct from email security and compliance also makes sense.

Hmm. I really do need to invest in a backup drive for local backups.
Isn't that what RAID is for? Geez man
I should have added, at home to that. We have local and offsite backup for the place I work.
I have local back my office backup is a mix of google drive, gmail, and owncloud haha. Yeah I know it's not that good of a plan.
Note that Google Drive Sync is NEVER a backup solution.

RE: What Helpdesk Platforms are IT Service Providers Using
We are using ConnectWise.
It covers almost all of what we want for CRM and has a robust service desk and ticketing system.
It has more work flow tools than we realized and are just starting to see the potential for efficiency and management tracking.
We'll be integrating with our financial system shortly. CW can handle automated invoicing and push the journal entries to the accounting system for receivables tracking and management. -

RE: What Are You Doing Right Now
@scottalanmiller .... We are very busy. We launched a new web site last week (still adding content daily) and opened an office in Atlanta (official announcement is next week). We are also launching our own bundled service package for SMBs that addresses different needs for cloud/hosted managed file services (first set of packages based on GAFW, others to follow).
We received some partner growth funding from Google via their Lending Club partnership, so our staff has grown as we expand or SMB market efforts and move aggressively into local government.
And, sometimes, I sleep.

@thecreativeone91
So you are 20 times more likely to get malware from an infected or corrupted website than from an intentional file download. Even "trusted" sites, like CNN, have been hacked and have spread malware.
I understand how you are using Drive, and if you know the files are clean before a manual upload, than the Drive content will stay clean.

Unless your computer is hit with a virus and the files in your "backup folder" are corrupted or cryptolocked. Those changes will sync to Drive. We've seen this way too often with our customers.

RE: Got Some New Toys Today!
@coliver External HDs are great for home backups provided your pipes never burst, you never have a fire, or a lightning strike, or a power problem, or a curious kid.
We use MozyPRO at home. Individual file restores are comparable our previous external HD.
