Speaking about Veeam, at home I use a 180-day NFR license to open the full functionality (http://go.veeam.com/free-nfr-backup-management-suite.html) - it's not for production, it's only for learning purposes. I also recommend to take a look at free video trainings from Veeam University that in your case might also be helpful - http://www.veeam.com/backup-replication-university.html

I sold all my paper books, because thet took too much space and collected dust. Today all my books are in the digital formats.

They like the idea of offsite backup, but $4600 not counting hardware will be pushing it. Does Veeam require maintenance to be repurchased for it? WAN Acceleration is only available in the Enterprise Plus edition.

Speaking about maintenance & support, as I know, 1 year is included and later you can renew your subscription, but it's not obligatory.
