        Interesting. It's hard to have an operations team that's worth a damn if they don't understand the construction of the platform they are supporting (i.e. being a dev at least a little themselves).

        The company my friend works for - he's started a new training system where his dev team not only has to have insane documentation about what his dev team is making.. but they actually train the operations team on the platform that was just developed. Of course this training has to be included in the timeline so planning understand how long this project will actually take, etc.. etc...

          Well this is certainly not the case at where I'm at. Devs don't really communicate or document well and then testing is somewhat haphazard at times. QA seems to be an after thought.
