Shark Week

I just wish the salt water in the NW wasnt so damn cold all the time. Puget Sound doesnt even make it to 60 degrees F, ever. The Pacific Ocean is just as cold or colder all year too.
Whenever I'm visiting the family out there I like doing boat tours. You always see people out paddling around on the sound. Even in the middle of summer it's just crazy, fall in and you're in almost instant shock thanks to the cold water.

@travisdh1
Yes paddle boarding is great fun. Youre right the water is a huge shock. Especially if youre out when it gets above 90, then you jump in water that is mid 50s, it almost hurts. -
I've never had cable so never experienced this shark week thing.

It's been the same thing for years, Shark Taggers go out and tow a fake seal behind the boat and record the shark attack.

Sharks are pretty stupid compared to other fish. I am not sure why they are celebrated so much.

Because humans are stupid compared to other mammals?
-
I'm amazed this series is still on.
-
I'm not... people still watch it.

The most dangerous mammal predator invented flowbee, likes chemical toilets and invented weapons able to sterilize the entire planet. Let them watch that show...

Human week is on the History channel. They generally talk about mass atrocities or crazy theories that this species actually believes.

I know. Basic market rules are easy, it's all about supply and demand

Sharks are cool and all. But I would really like a Bee week.

Would be good, it's an endangered species

I do the polar bear plunge every thanksgiving at the head of Lake Washington. I'm usually super hung over and jump in wearing my boxers to swim around for a little while. Wakes you up better than coffee. Though I stay close to the dock because, you know, hypothermia.

Yeah, the ocean water around there is bad enough, but all the lakes are fed directly from the mountain glaciers.

That's why I swim close to the dock in case I start losing feeling. Haven't had any issues yet though, I constantly monitor myself while I swim. My longest was just under 20 minutes with only boxers. Felt great except my skin was pretty stiff for a couple hours and my male area was... well you know.

I grew up swimming in the sea and only in the last few years have I been drawn to fresh for fly fishing. Lakes are colder than I could have ever possibly imagined!
