Apparently on Windows 10 their DRM driver does not load and crashes the game instantly. So you need to use a no CD patch (which I guess only works on the retail copies of the game)

There was no such issue for me like 6 months ago. Played Generals, Zero Hour vanilla and with mods on 10 without any problems. Want me to try again?

Check in with @coliver about that. He's having trouble with Zero Hour on 10.

For RA-2 Skip Vanilla and install the mental omega mod. It is amazing!

I got banned in Star Craft 2 for using single player mods So lost the rights to even play the game offline but I am allowed to buy a new key for the game...under the same account.
