in the future we can think about hosting our data (files) in the cloud, but what about Application server, this is the problem we cannot install our application in an outside server in the cloud,
For legal reasons?
honestly i don't know, but i think that the IT company that sold us this application will not accept to install it in an hosted server as far as i can see
-
i didn't propose to them this idea yet, but i have a feeling that they will not accept

Oh, I see. I've never heard of that stipulation in a contract. How do they define hosted? Likely an terminology that would limit hosting would also stop you using a VPN as you are self hosting to another location in that case (to the remote office, you are the hosted application facility.) It would be a bizarre legal stipulation to disallow any enterprise use of the software. Not that that doesn't regularly happen, but it would be seriously bizarre.

Is it a software vendor that you can disclose?

No we cannot disclose with this vendor since employees get familiar with the application and also we already bought the licence of multiple users, we cannot cancel anything with them,

aaaaah sorry i though that you mean close, because i'm not an English speaker, i just studied it,
concerning the vendor, it is not a well known company, it is called TEBAS (technical business application system) located in egypt -
but if we host this application, will it be safe and private ???

Most likely safer than it is now. It depends where you host, of course, just like it depends how well you secure it yourself. But, in general, the big enterprise hosts are the safest places anywhere. Those are the big ones like Amazon, Rackspace, Microsoft Azure, IBM / Softlayer, etc. They are extremely secure. You would get your own OS instance, so you would have full control of the server just as if it were your own.

LOL, yes I know Morocco. We are actually thinking about going there later this year. I've never been there but have been as close as Madrid and Lisbon. My family is considering spending a month in Spain this year and if we do we will certainly hop the ferry over to Morocco too. But we haven't settled on Spain for this year. We are also considering Croatia and are known to change our minds dramatically at the last minute. Although with only a few months left to go, we need to decide pretty soon. Those are our two most likely locations for this year. Partially it will depend if I am attending VMWorld in Barcelona or not.

Correct. You would still be the administrator and be the only person with access.

Sort of. You pay a monthly fee for the server and the license is included. You don't buy a license, but the cost of the service includes the license. So in a way you pay for it, but you don't need to worry about getting a license.
-
How much memory does your application server use today? And I assume that it is running on Windows, hence the question about the license.
