Ubuntu 14.04 crashes due to using too much memory

I have about 26 plugins which I am told for a large wordpress site is common and perhaps on the low end.

That's a lot more than I normally see, but I'm not authority here. But I do know that the plugins themselves and not the number of them would be a bigger factor. One bad one is worse than thirty good ones.

Definitely about 21 more than I'm used to.
