@thwr the boxes on the left are The Glencairn Glass from StΓΆlzle. Not sure what you mean by imported to the US though, they are all in the UK from the UK.
Nevermind, just noticed that you are in the UK Most users here are from the US, that's why I thought you're from there too. StΓΆlzle is a German company, so that makes perfect sense.

@thanksajdotcom That is good, but you you find that Smokey, you may want to avoid anything that says Islay on it.

More for me.

I'm not a fan of smoky, peated Scotches. But I have discovered that Balvenie makes some amazing, non-smoky whiskies. Their 12 year, double wood, and Caribbean cask are all excellent.

I'm a fan of any 18 year old scotch, really. Macallen is one of my favorites. Dalwhinnie is great. I recently fed Scott some Johnnie Walker Gold label, though, with no complaints.

I'm a fan of any scotch

McAllen 12 is my go too, but I am slowly getting pulled to Laphroaig especially if a good cigar is involved.

<threadjack> Have you tried Nubs? I'm a big fan of them, and I really love all of the Oliva cigars, especially the V torpedoes.

@Grey I have and they are good. My current favorite go to stick is the Don Peppin Cuban Clasic My top shelf stuff I try to keep in the humidor is the My Father Flor De Las Antillas, The My Father Le Bijou 1922, and a good LFD Chisel tip.

Just about to order a bottle of the Caol Ila 18 ( @Grey ) for what is turning into our weekly whisky evening at the office.

Laphroaig makes you cry inside a bit.
Strange, it just makes my beard grow thicker
Laphroaig Quarter Cask, best bottle under $100
Schnay! I say, schnay! Laphroaig 10yr. Cask Strength, a.k.a. "Red Stripe".
Edit: Although the Quarter Cask is indeed dandy.

I love that stuff. One of my favs.

Balvenie has been mentioned up post. One of the first distilleries to do the double cask thang. Some dandy offerings. Indeed. Yet I prefer their 15yr. old single cask. Ya' know, the stuff the master pulls and sets aside prior to double caskin'.... Dandy elixir. Indeed. If you can find it.
Other Faves:
-
Talisker: Robert Louis Stevenson's poison of preference.
-
McCallan 12yr. Sherry Wood, Cask Strength. No longer exported to USA. But damn, I sure wish I'd not let my wife's neatness OCD polish off the last quarter bottle from my stash... ;(
-
Glenmorangie 18yr. Old Deep citrus, orange notes from that d'oroloso finish. Recommended.
