So I know this has come up in the past, which is how can I create a scheduled WinSCP task to copy from one directory to a local one?

I know I'm going to have to use scheduled tasks for this, but am completely unfamiliar with where to begin.

      Any WinSCP experts out there?

Well, we figured out that I can't figure out WinSCP last week 😛 I'll stick with a cygwin shell for the time being, and maybe use that Ubuntu on Windows when it's ready.

I suppose I don't even need WinSCP I could just use an xcopy command

Probably the easiest way to go. Write a little script to mount/copy/umount, easier and quicker for you.

I built a small xcopy script to clone everything in the NFS directory to a local disk shared from my machine nightly at 2AM.

              So much more simple.

Now to test it with some real files.

I still don't understand why you did not simply mount the windows share on your Linux server and copy the files there.

I think that Jared is right, this is more likely to be the easier way to go.

Is WinSCP that much easier to use for an SCP task than Putty's SCP command line option? Seems like you'd just make a scheduled task with Putty and done.

Sorry @scottalanmiller and @JaredBusch (not bragging but the solution is very simple)

Below is a working result of the setup and backup job.
