I have to perform bi-annually asset check list soon. Previously I would walk around the office with pen and notepad and note down all asset tag numbers + owner + location. The asset tag itself has barcode which represents the asset tag number. Is there a device (cheap) that allow me to scan and the data ported directly to iPad Excel? Does not have to be iPad or Excel, but preferably some kind of table chart.

If no one knows that's fine too. The task going to take me 2 hrs gathering and 1 hr cross referencing.

      Thanks!!

If you use the right kinds of barcodes, an iPhone can see them natively. So can Android, of course.

Not nearly as accurate or as fast as a Bluetooth barcode scanner is.
